Title: Once In A Lifetime
Description: - for Livvy

Cain - January 3, 2011 08:27 AM (GMT)
It had been a confusing time lately. Olivia was with him, and that was all very good. He loved her, of course he did. He loved her so much that he could barely understand how this came to happen, that he really could love someone that much. Cain was working less because he wanted to spend every waking moment with her. Of course he tried to make it so they wouldn't be together constantly, though he was sure that he'd never be bored in her presence. But there were things, that made it hard to love so much. Cain could not stop thinking about those months they spent apart. He'd had this odd feeling inside, like he was almost both sad and angry at the same time, when he thought about what she had done while they weren't together. Rhett hadn't been smart enough to wash her scent off him entirely, and Cain was sure that if she'd sleep with Rhett - who'd sleep with anyone - he wasn't the only one. And it made him feel so strange.

So strange, that he had even sought out Olivia's friend Aeron - whose club Cain invested in - to talk about it. And Aeron said Cain was jealous, but that it wasn't wrong to feel. As long as he did not take it out on anyone. What was he supposed to do then? Do nothing? Just feel that feeling, and feel it almost gnaw inside of him? He didn't like that feeling, he wanted it to go away. Aeron had said something about how Olivia wanted to spend forever with him, and how he knew she loved him. And that Cain should just prove to her that he felt exactly the same. But how to prove that? They'd been chatting on that Twitter some, he and Olivia. And somehow he got the impression that she wanted to spend forever with him, but in the way humans did it. She wanted Cain to give her a ring as a symbol of their love. And when he looked it up more, he understood that it wasn't just a ring. Cain knew about weddings. He'd even been to quite a few in his life, but he'd never thought that he might have his own. Time had surely changed him this time.

Cain would talk with her about it, and it would be tonight. For mortals, this was a special night. Cain supposed it was somewhat special to him. He didn't know his birthday or the date he was turned, so every time a new year began, Cain said that he was a year older too. Once, it had mattered. But when you were his age, it didn't matter so much. It was just a year more. One year among thousands of them. But this would be spent with Olivia, and he looked forwards to it. So he'd ask her about that marriage tonight. He'd been looking at videos online to see how people did it, talk to women about marriage. It was called proposal. He knew that, but now it had something to do with Cain, it was more important to think about. They'd celebrate this New Year together, and Cain would do this proposal thing. He'd been to work when he first woke, but now he came home. Wondering if she had decorated their penthouse for the night, as she had a tendency to do on special nights. The Christmas decorations had gotten so tiresome to look at! Little men dressed in red with pointy red hats, and all smiling. But they were just figurines. Still, tonight it was no longer Christmas. Cain - dressed in his usual black suit he wore to work - let himself into their home, and smiled by the thought of Olivia. "Love? I'm home!" He called as he stepped out of his shoes and took off his coat.

Olivia White - January 3, 2011 09:13 AM (GMT)
Olivia had no idea where things were right now in regards to her relationship. She knew she wanted to marry Cain. She was 150% sure of it. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. But it wasn't that easy when you were in a relationship with a 2000 year old vampire who didn't quite understand normal human rituals. She didn't really know how to go about any of this. Sure, they'd talked about marriage before, but that was back before they broke up, when they fought. So it hadn't been a good talk. And she didn't want just come right out and tell him she wanted to get married. That kind of ruined it. So she'd tried to hint to him little things. Only it seemed like he'd never get it. Hell, she practically told him exactly what she wanted on Twitter and look at the response he gave her!

Oh well...maybe some day it would happened. They had all of 2011 to look forward to! Tonight was New Years Eve and she planned on going to Glitter to see Aeron. If she knew Aeron, there was probably some big party going on with lots of glitz and glamour. It seemed pretty appropriate for the new year! And of course she wanted Cain to come with her! Who else would kiss her at midnight? While Cain had gone to work, she'd spent some of the evening putting a new decorations up, nothing too fancy, just a banner and some streamers just in case they spend some time together at home too. Then she'd gone off to get ready for the evening, choosing a purple dress, the necklace and earrings Cain got her and a pair of heels that she had yet to put on.

She had been finishing pulling her hair into an updo when she heard Cain open the door, smiling as she heard him moving in the living room. "Finishing up my hair! I'll be out in a second," she called to him, putting one last curl in her hair before looking in the mirror again. Maybe it was Aeron rubbing off on her, but she had to admit...she and Cain were a very hot couple. She wondering if they'd get looks tonight when they went out! Walking out of their bedroom, she made her way into the living room, her pace growing quicker the closer she got to Cain. "Hi," she grinned closing the last few feet between them and giving him a kiss. "How was work?"

Cain - January 3, 2011 03:08 PM (GMT)
Work hadn't been interesting tonight. Honestly, it hadn't been very interesting in a long while. It was just work that had to be done. Cain was losing his interesting in the agency, but the money were good, and Cain was a greedy soul inside. He liked the profit it gave. People would pay huge amounts for getting someone killed, and Cain could afford to demand such huge amounts. Humans had this idea that killing another human was a big deal and human lives were very valuable. Olivia thought the same, and Cain was slowly maybe beginning to understand it all, but he still did his work. Until now. He had only been gone a few hours tonight, it was New Years and Olivia had some plans with it. She always did. They'd celebrated two such nights together already, after all. This would be their third.

So he'd come home and got his coat and shoes off. The black shirt he wore tonight had short sleeves and a pocket on his chest. His trousers were black and plain, nothing special about them. Cain was simple in the way he dressed, while Olivia, she did more with her outfits. And was it just Cain, or had she begun to dress up even more after she became Aeron's friend? He wouldn't be surprised. Humans were easily influenced. It was just Cain whose style of dressing was too plain for anyone to be influenced by it. After he got his things off, he moved into the living room. Olivia spoke about finishing her hair, and Cain sat down on an arm to the sofa while waiting for her.

He rose when she came, smiling and returning her kiss. Cain put his arms around her to draw her closer, "Work was work." And by that he meant, it wasn't anything unusual apart from how it always was. Olivia would know, she'd worked in his office for a long while. "You look beautiful." Cain then stated, moving on to a much more interesting subject than his work. Not that he didn't already tell her daily how beautiful she was, but still... "It's a very pretty dress. And I like the jewellery." He added with a smile. Olivia wanted more though, and he knew what she wanted. Only Olivia didn't know that he knew, really, which had him slightly amused. Cain felt like... yes, he actually felt like teasing her a tiny bit! "I was thinking about getting some more of it for you soon."

Olivia White - January 4, 2011 09:32 AM (GMT)
Olivia had no idea what Cain had planned for tonight. She'd tried to hint to him about what she wanted, but in typical Cain fashion, her hints when over his head. She had more or less given up on it after their last talk when she had done everything but straight up tell him she wanted to get married. It really wouldn't be nearly as special if she had to tell him exactly what she wanted. Proposals were supposed to be a surprise! Oh well...there was always her birthday in a few weeks. And Valentines Day. And their anniversary. Maybe then she'd get lucky.

But for tonight, she planned on them going to Glitter to see Aeron to celebrate New Years Eve and his birthday. It seemed like a good place to go...they always had good parties and she loved seeing her friend. Plus...she was kind of hoping that he and Cain could become friends of sorts. She thought that might be good for them both. They were, after all, two of the most important men in her life.

And speaking of those men, didn't Cain just look amazing tonight? It was amusing how he almost always wore the same thing, yet she always thought he looked so sexy. She really liked Cain in black...he always looked so good and seemed to match her no matter what she wore. He would look just fine in that tonight when they went out. She'd greeted him and kissed him, asking how work was, because she was genuinely interested to hear about his day, even if she still wasn't 100% comfortable with what he was doing.

He returned the kiss and pulled her closer, talking about work, then telling her that she looked beautiful. It never got old, being called beautiful by the one you loved. He complimented her dress and jewelry, then said that he had been thinking about getting her more soon. Oh? So he had looked at that website that she'd sent him a few days ago. Though somehow, she was almost sure that he hadn't looked at the right type of jewelry. Earrings and necklaces were nice...but she had something else in mind. "Really?" Her eyes lit up at his suggestion. "Like...maybe....a new necklace? Or a ring?" She glanced down at her bare fingers. Yes...they definitely needed something flashy.

Cain - January 4, 2011 10:24 AM (GMT)
Cain knew that Olivia had some plans for tonight - it's not like he didn't see her chat with Aeron on Twitter and knew the young vampire had invited them to Glitter. Whatever Olivia wanted to do was fine with Cain. Not that he found it very interesting to go out, and he wasn't much of a dancer either, or anything like that. And he couldn't drink. So he could let his love have her fun there, and he'd be there for her sake. Just looking at her. He was sure Aeron would dance with her. Maybe it was good for her to have a friend like that, that she could do all the things with that Cain wasn't interested in. He really tried sometimes, but he just didn't always get it. Cain would be just as fine spending their night tonight at home. And maybe he'd get it like that, depending on Olivia's reaction to his plans. His plans that she did not know about. He kind of liked having a secret like this.

She looked beautiful tonight, as always. Maybe it was a bit more than she wore daily, so she had probably dressed up. Cain thought her beautiful no matter what, and this suited her very well too. She came to give him a kiss and asked about his work. Well it was work. Not all that interesting, and not half as interesting as holding Olivia in his arms. He let her know she looked beautiful, and that he liked her dress and all. Of course he liked the jewellery, he picked it for her. It was kind of a tiny joke right there. Cain could do that, or at least he attempted to do it. Joke. He rarely did that, and he often had his own very dry and cryptic sense of humour that no one but he would understand. Olivia wouldn't understand what he said next, as he suggested to get her some more jewellery.

Olivia's eyes lit up in a very pretty way. She talked about what the new jewellery would be, and he noticed her look towards her fingers. "I thought that this time, you should pick what you want most." Cain explained to her, smiling inwardly at his own brilliant plan. "First though, there's something we have to talk about." How to put it best? He thought about his recent conversation with Aeron, and decided to use that. He would just have to try and keep his voice in check, though the thought of the conversation also made him think of the jealousy. And that made him feel slightly upset within. But it would still be useful. "In fact, it was your friend Aeron who said I should talk to you about this. It bothers me a bit, actually, so we really need to talk. I think, that we should sit down." Cain said and guided her around the couch so they could both sit down. He was almost sure she'd be slightly worried now, and it's not like he liked to make her worried, but she'd be happy later - he knew that much.

Olivia White - January 4, 2011 08:44 PM (GMT)
Sure, the thought of getting engaged was still in the back of her mind, but she'd decided that it wasn't going to be happening tonight, so she'd just make the best of the evening she had planned. It would be fun to see Aeron and dance. Hell, maybe she'd get Cain to dance. She was already able to get him to do other things that he might not normally do, perhaps she'd get him to do this too? Okay...or maybe she shouldn't press her luck. She was just happy to be spending yet another New Years Eve with her love.

He'd complemented her jewelry and suggested getting her more, getting her a lot more excited than she already was. She mentioned a necklace or ring...yet another hint to him...before looking down at her hands. Yes...a ring would be perfect. A nice diamond engagement ring. Cain told her, though, that he thought she should pick it this time. Hmm...this could certainly work out well for her. She could throw out another super obvious hint that Cain might get.

Her smile faltered when Cain said they had something to talk about first. Her eyes narrowed at him in concern as he continued on, explaining that Aeron suggested he talk to her about something that bothers him a bit. She nodded, not sure what to say to that, then followed as he lead her to sit down. Oh God, what was this about? Her heart started to race and her stomach twisted into knots, her mind racing to try to figure out what Cain wanted to talk about. He wasn't going to break up with her, was he? Aeron never would have suggested that! "What is it?" She said softly, the worry and unease seeping through despite her attempt to keep her voice stead.

Cain - January 4, 2011 09:00 PM (GMT)
Cain was rarely very amused by anything. Sure he could find things a bit funny, but the times Olivia had heard him laugh could probably be counted on two hands, maybe less. But right now, he was amused by his own brilliance. Olivia had absolutely no idea what Cain was planning for them, for her. She did not know that he was going to ask her to marry him, because though she loved him and understood him better than most... she still didn't know everything, and she certainly couldn't see into his mind or soul or whatever she believed in.

He sensed her happiness when he spoke about jewellery and how she should pick what she wanted this time. But Cain had to do this carefully. He wanted to see her so happy that she could barely grasp it, and she was going to be. How to get her to sit down though, and how to get to the question... well he could just ask it, just like that, but he knew she wouldn't want it like that. Olivia was very romantic in the way she thought, and though he did not always understand romance, he knew what it was. He knew what she'd like. And oh, he had watched movies with her and knew where she seemed to cuddle closer to him in that state of odd happiness movies could make some feel.

His little plan had a little fault though. For when he decided what to say, he also got into thinking about that talk with Aeron, and one of the reasons why he was going to do this. Of course it was mostly for her sake, but maybe also partly his own? Since if she married him, there'd never be anyone else. They did say that until death did them part. Not that he wanted to think about Olivia dead, but he also didn't want to think about her with anyone else. Her heart started racing when he said they had to talk, but she followed to sit down. Cain looked at her and stroked her cheek with his fingers, "I've been feeling something lately. Something that doesn't really feel good, I don't like that feeling. Apparently it's all natural too feel, but... I don't like it." Cain explained, seeming very serious, "The thought of you with someone else... I can't stand that thought. The months we spent apart... I don't want to ever experience that again." He'd let her react to that, and then hopefully she'd let him get to the point.

Olivia White - January 4, 2011 10:26 PM (GMT)
Cain and his odd sense of humor. This wasn't amusing at all! Right now he had her so worried with whatever he wanted to talk to her about. Things had been going so well between them, what could possibly be bothering him? Was it something she did? This evening was supposed to be fun! She shouldn't be worrying about things! Why did he want to talk now, before they went out? They had plenty of other times they could talk.

The whole mood of the room seemed to change as Cain led her to the couch and the sat down. Her stomach twisted in unease and her heart practically beat out of her chest as she asked him what he wanted to discuss. She watched his face the entire time he spoke, explaining how he had been feeling some not-so-good things lately by the thought of her with someone else and that he never wanted to experience what he did during the time they had been broken up.

Why would he even be thinking about that? She loved him! If she didn't want to spend her life with him, she never would have come back. Sure, she had did some things while they were apart, but they didn't mean anything. She was trying to forget the pain from missing Cain, and really, neither of her hookups had made things better. She reached up to take his hand on her cheek, holding it on her lap and meeting his gaze, just as serious as he had just been with her. "You shouldn't think about that," she scolded him. "I'm never going to be with anybody else. I don't want to be with anybody else. I love you now and forever."

Cain - January 5, 2011 06:25 AM (GMT)
Cain almost felt bad for how he made Olivia feel. Her heart was racing, her feelings were confused and nervous and maybe a little frightened. On the other hand, it was Cain who caused it and it was part of his plan. It was also always interesting to see how easily you could manipulate with emotions. A few well-places sentences, and they'd shift. But that wasn't why he did this though, not at all. He'd led her to the couch, and once they sat down, Olivia asked what he had to talk about. Her pretty blue eyes all worried. She feared it was something bad.

He explained to her what he'd been feeling, that it wasn't a nice feeling when he thought of her with someone else. Like when they were apart. He said to her he'd never want to feel that again. Olivia took his hand in hers and looked up at him. Said he should not think about it, that she'd never be with anyone else because she did not want to. That she loved him now and forever. "It's hard to not think about, when I love you so much." Cain said, "I can only find one way to solve it. One way that would be right." He then added and paused, thinking about what to do. He'd seen this in movies, he'd even seen people outside of movies do this. But no, he would not. What was it with that getting down on one knee thing? Besides, he had no ring to offer her. No, he would not do it. There was no point.

"There's something I have to ask you about." Cain said and let his fingers wrap more around hers. He felt the love for her strongly, but he knew that she'd feel even more about this than he did. It was mostly for her sake, a tiny bit for his, but mostly for hers. It would be odd to get married. And who'd marry them? Cain wasn't a Christian. If he had believed in something, ever, it was probably ancient gods, with where he came from. But he just didn't. Still, Olivia wanted this. And he would do it for her. He met her eyes and then, as he still held her hand with one of his, he shifted and took her other hand in his other one too. So he held both her hands, "Olivia..." It was so cliché! It felt as if it wasn't something Cain did, and he could barely believe he was really saying this and doing it. But he did it anyway, and he did feel a well of strong emotions within when he said it, "Will you marry me?"

Olivia White - January 5, 2011 07:33 AM (GMT)
Olivia hated that Cain had actually felt some negative emotions because of her. She had wanted to teach him all about the emotions, and thus far, she had showed him so much, but apparently there was some bad along with the good and Cain wanted to talk about them. He'd told her how he had felt things when he thought about her with someone else, to which she quickly explained he didn't have to worry about that. Sure, when they were apart she had done things with other, but they were apart. She'd never do that to him when they were together. She'd never cheat on him. She loved him with every fiber of her being.

He said it was hard not to think about when he loved her so much, and could only think about one way to solve it. Oh God...what was that thing? She still wasn't 100% sure that he wasn't going to end things between them. What if that was his solution? Hell, what if he was going to kill her? That would be a way to solve his problem. She was still serious as she looked at him, trying to read what he was planning to do with no such luck. She didn't like that he was being so cryptic...just get to the point, please?

He told her he needed ask her something, then took both of her hands in his. She looked down at their hands briefly before meeting his gaze with a concerned curiosity. He spoke her name, then trailed off, making her heart race even faster in the seconds before he spoke again, asking her to marry him.

It took a moment for it to hit her...but once it did, she gasped,.forgetting to breathe, her eyes going wide in surprise. Then her lips curved up into a huge smile, tears starting to form in her eyes. "Seriously?" She choked out, the tears rolling down over the apples of her smiling cheeks. She didn't even wait for him to answer since it was more of a rhetorical question, before squealing and practically screaming out "OH MY GOD YES!" She lunged forward to wrap her arms around him and kiss him, half kneeling on him, half straddling him. "YES, YES, YES!" She repeated to him in between kisses, still grinning against his lips.

Cain - January 5, 2011 09:21 AM (GMT)
It wasn't like Cain thought Olivia would cheat on him. She hadn't during the last few years, and as he said to Aeron... he felt it wrong to be jealous since they weren't even together when she was with other males. It wasn't right, when they weren't together. He did not have the right to be jealous. But he was, and he could not do anything about it. Just the thought of her with someone else upset him. But he had told Olivia all that now, that he'd felt bad because of that, and he did not want to feel it again. He knew she loved him though, and somehow, in his head his jealousy became a very good reason for him to want to marry her. It was the only he had, he did not know why else he should marry anyone. Love was plenty for him. Olivia probably had a lot of reasons, besides her love.

He kept being cryptic just a little longer. Cain often said what he wanted to say right away, did not beat around the bush as they said. But in this case, he did. Because then the surprise would be so much bigger for Olivia, and he wanted it to be. She was still slightly nervous, but it didn't last much longer. For now he got to the point. He took her hands, met her eyes and asked her to marry him. Just like that! Not that it was hard to say it all, but he did feel a stir of strong loving emotions towards her when he'd said it. First, Olivia didn't react at all. She just sat there. Wouldn't she be surprised and happy? Wasn't this what she wanted? Thoughts raced through his head, but then Olivia gasped and her eyes went wide.

Then Olivia smiled and he saw her eyes become more wet. Cain arched a brow when she asked if he was serious, "Of course." Cain replied simply, still holding her hands while she sat there crying. Why was she crying? He didn't mean to make her cry! Crying was usually not a good thing, but then, why was she smiling and with happiness radiating from her? Olivia then more or less screamed out her 'yes' to his question, and wrapped her arms around him, almost crawled onto him, kissed him. Cain let out a small laugh, a bit surprised by her reaction. His arms wrapped around her too, pulling her as close as he could, returning her kisses. He liked this feeling of happiness that came from her, and it was so contagious, he couldn't help but feel it too. "Good." Cain replied when she allowed him to, "I thought you'd say yes... I'm glad you're happy."

Olivia White - January 6, 2011 09:10 AM (GMT)
Tonight had easily just become the most amazing night of her life. She certainly hadn't expected Cain to propose to her tonight. Sure, she had wanted it, but she so sure that he hadn't been picking up on the hints she had been dropping. She had to give him credit...he was more aware of things than she thought. Though, of course, he couldn't just propose to her like a normal guy, he had to worry her half to death first! She had no idea what it was he had wanted to talk about, then he started talking about how he couldn't stand the thought of her being with someone else, which had her thinking that maybe he had suspected she had cheated on her...then he spoke about only having one solution, and she was almost sure he was going to break up with her, then he asked her to marry her.

He had caught her so off guard, that at first, it didn't even register. Then once she realized what she asked, she couldn't stop the tears of joy from coming as she threw her arms around him and told him yes. She kissed repeatedly, once again telling him yes...in case he missed it the first time. And was that a laugh she heard from him? This was so amazing!!! She didn't even know what to do. She was engaged to be married to the man she loved. And that meant that they would spend the rest of their lives together!

She was practically busting with happiness when her lips finally left his long enough for him to talk, though there was still a huge grin on her face. She didn't bother climbing off of him either, finding herself rather comfortable where she was sitting for the moment. He told her that he thought she'd say yes and was glad she was happy. Happy was an understatement. Ecstatic, perhaps? She reached up to wipe her eyes, nodding a bit. "I'm so glad that I've found such an amazing guy like you. I love you so, so much," she spoke as more tears came. "I can't wait to spend my life with you," she leaned in again to give him another kiss.

Cain - January 6, 2011 07:03 PM (GMT)
It had Cain very amused that Olivia had no idea what he was going to ask her about. It almost made it even better to Cain too, it made him really want to do it because he couldn't wait to sense and see her happiness. And she had been so worried and nervous. Her heart had been racing, she'd been a little warmer, she had that serious and concerned look in her eyes. Of course she loved him and would stay with him, he knew that. Else she'd not be here, it was that simple. So she loved him and he loved her and they would get married, once they'd decided to do so.

And they had now, for now he had asked her if she'd marry him, and once Olivia understood that he asked that very question... she said yes and she was so extremely happy. Cain could not remember if he'd experienced her this happy before. Perhaps when he gave her pleasure, made sure to build it up long enough to make her burst into the satisfaction when it finally happened. But it still wasn't quite the same as now. She squealed and cried but smiled too and was so happy. When she halfway climbed onto him to hug him and kiss him, he had to let out a laugh. She was very sweet, and her happiness was so refreshing.

When she finally pulled a little back, Cain let her know he expected her to say yes... well what else could she say, when she had wanted it so much? Now he understood all those tweets she'd made. Olivia stated how glad she was to have found him. Called him amazing and declared her love. Cain kissed her, "We're already spending our lives together." He pointed out when the kiss broke, "But I guess, now it will be more official?" Cain then added thoughtfully and thought about running a hand through her hair, but he didn't want to ruin the way she'd put it. So he just caressed her back gently with his hands, while looking to her eyes, "I know you want a ring. I thought we'd buy them together. Then you can get the one you like most."

Olivia White - January 14, 2011 08:01 AM (GMT)
Olivia still wasn't quite over the shock of Cain proposing to her. She really didn't think he got her hints. And if he did, he definitely made it seem like it wasn't something he wanted to do. Marriage was one of those human rituals that Cain didn't quite understand the point of, but to her, it was such a huge deal. Little girls dreamed of finding love and getting married with some huge wedding. And Olivia was no different. And now she'd get to plan it all! Every single detail from her dress to a venue...heck, she'd probably have to pick the the tuxes the guys wore too! Of course, she would need help with this...most likely in the form of Aeron and Sofia, but still...it was all so exciting!

And it was so much bigger than just the wedding. From that day on, everyone would know that she and Cain were each others. They'd both have the rings to prove it, and she'd have his name! She hadn't quite thought about the fact that Cain didn't have a last name for her to take, but they'd figure things out when they got to it. She could hardly contain herself as she thought about about how amazing it all was. Hell, she was seriously holding back from running around the penthouse jumping up and down and screaming about how much she loved him.

Instead she stayed on his lap, letting out all of her excitement on Cain. She could hardly keep her lips off of him for the sheer fact that she wanted to continually express her love for him. "Now everyone will know just how much we love each other," she answered his comment about how them spending their lives together would be official now. Her gaze met his as his fingers danced over her back, explaining how he thought they could buy a ring together so that she could pick the one she liked most. Her smile grew wider if that was even possible, at the thought and she nodded, "Okay, but you have to help me pick one." There was just no way she'd be able to decide on one without his help,

Cain - January 14, 2011 04:09 PM (GMT)
Cain really enjoyed having Olivia sit here on his lap. It was a good place for her to be. And it could become even better, but he did also enjoy to just sit here with her, hold her and caress her while they talked. Cain would get married now. He never thought he'd do that. He had been close before, in the past, but back then it would have been marriages for politics or something like it. Alliances. And to make people around him believe he was a normal human being. A few hundred years ago, people didn't understand why he wasn't married. Such a fine and clever young gentleman! But maybe that's exactly why he hadn't married. Cain didn't feel he needed to.

But now he did, since Olivia loved him and he loved her and she wanted to get married. And then she'd be his, and it would be official and everything. For her happiness and for Cain's peace of mind, they'd marry. She'd said that she could not wait with spending her life with him, though Cain pointed out that they were already spending their lives together. Though it would be more official. Olivia said everyone would know how much they loved each other, which made Cain smile, "I don't mind that." In fact... maybe he didn't mind that the whole world knew he was getting married. Cain usually kept his private life with Olivia and his business life at the agency apart. But why do that, really? Other people with jobs also told about their family relations at their job. So why shouldn't Cain do it too?

First things first though, Olivia needed a ring. And they would buy them together. Cain said he wanted her to have what she liked most - and Olivia said he should help her pick one. He nodded, "Okay... I'll do that then." Cain said and then he smiled again. She just made him smile... and especially now as he thought about her tweets. "I imagine you already have something in mind though. At first I didn't know what you wrote about... I'm sorry if I seem a little slow to you sometimes. I just don't always think like you do." Cain added, watching her face. She had such beautiful blue eyes and soft pink lips. Such warm skin that his fingers caressed. The first time they'd proclaimed their love for each other, Cain believed it was just that, love. But right now he almost felt it differently. Maybe he didn't just love her. Maybe he was actually in love, too.

Olivia's mind was already fast forwarding to ring shopping. Oh, she couldn't wait to go out and pick something with Cain. The ring they picked that would be another step in proving their love for one another until their wedding day when they would exchange vows and wedding rings. An engagement ring certainly wasn't something to be taken lightly. It was a symbol that she was his. Something that even a human could see and know that she was taken. And of course it was the perfect accessory to show off with any outfit.

And speaking of outfits, she wasn't so sure she wanted to go out anymore. She had been all for spending New Years Eve at Glitter and celebrating Aeron's birthday, but now she had even more to celebrate with Cain. It didn't even matter that she had spend so much time getting ready. Aeron would understand if they didn't come, wouldn't he? Or maybe they should go, so that she can tell him the news. Oh, the decisions! See, this is why Cain would have to help her pick a ring! She was so indecisive! Even if she had already spent plenty of time looking at rings on the internet.

"It's fine," she smiled and kissed the tip of his nose when he apologized for seeming a little slow sometimes. "I have a few ideas, but I want to see what they have. I want something different. I want everything about our wedding to be different. We're not a traditional couple, so I don't want a traditional wedding." She looked up at the clock, but didn't budge from his lap. It felt so right to just sit there, and they really should celebrate their engagement...but she did tell Aeron she'd come to Glitter. She thought for a moment, then reached for one of his hands, lacing her fingers between his. "We should go. At least for a little bit...to see Aeron. Then after midnight we can come start the new year with a bang," she grinned at her little joke there.

Cain - January 20, 2011 09:48 AM (GMT)
This was all so unlike Cain. All of his agents and other people he knew, they'd probably make strange faces of disbelief if they saw him with Olivia now. The look in his eyes would say it all; right now he wasn't a cold and reserved businessman and killer. Right now, he was just a man... vampire... in love. And Olivia was so happy, and her happiness was definitely contagious to Cain. It felt so right to sit here with her now, and he had even proposed, so they would be married. No one would ever doubt they were a couple again. No one should ever again doubt his love for her, or her love for him.

He apologized for how he did not get her hints to begin with. That he'd seem a little slow to her, because he did not think like her. See, this was another thing that was so unlike him. To apologize. Cain never apologized! But to her he would, because he knew he could have made her happy so long ago. He could have made her happy so she'd never have left him at all. She was here now though, and she said it was just fine. Kissed his nose, and then spoke of how she had ideas for the ring. She wanted a different kind of wedding because they weren't a traditional couple.

"I guess we aren't. But you'd know more about what's traditional and what's different, than me." Cain had no problems letting her plan the wedding for them. He was sure she'd be good at it, and she knew what she wanted and what she apparently dreamed about. Cain would give her it all. He noticed now he she glanced at the clock, and seemed a little thoughtful. Then Olivia took his hand and said they should get going to Glitter, to see Aeron. And then come home to start the new year with a bang. Her grin was sweet. But did they have to go? Cain looked at the clock too, then her, "You really want to go, don't you? Then we'll go. Even if the idea of ending and starting the year with that... bang, is an idea I like too." He smiled at her, it wasn't like him to use such words, but he was learning all the time, wasn't he? Two thousand years old and he could still learn new things. All because of her.

Olivia had already been planning her wedding for weeks. It was just a matter of getting engaged. And now that they took that step, everything could fall into place just like she wanted it to. She already knew it would be at least a year until they got married. Planning things like this took time and if she was going to have her fairytale wedding, she needed lots of time. Especially when she was going to stray away from tradition and do things her way. She and Cain were certainly not your traditional couple, so it just seemed right that they do things differently. And even though she might be the expert on what was and wasn't traditional, she wanted to make sure that Cain got a say in things too. Sure, this wedding was mostly for her, but it was still his wedding and she wanted him to add his own touch as well.

Just like with the ring. He wanted to go together to pick a ring, but she definitely wasn't picking one without his help. And they'd go and do that another night, since tonight was a pretty special night. With all of the new excitement, she nearly forgot it was New Years Eve, but the fact that she was all dressed up served as a pretty good reminder that she wanted to go to Glitter for a little bit. Even if it was just to see Aeron to tell him the news and wish him a happy birthday. Then they could come home and celebrate both their engagement and the new year!

Cain asked if she really wanted to go, and she nodded, though his idea was quite tempting. Ending 2010 in bed with each other and starting 2011 in bed with each other...had she not made these plans, she would have been all for stripping Cain down right now and pulling him into the bedroom. "You really know how to tempt me, don't you?" She teased him, climbing off his lap to stand up, trying to pull him up with her. "It's just for a little bit. I promise. We'll leave right after midnight, then come straight home, because a midnight kiss is definitely not going to be enough for me."

Cain - January 27, 2011 09:00 AM (GMT)
Cain wasn’t really aware that she’d been planning the wedding for weeks already. Or maybe he was aware, after he realized that she wanted to marry, and he re-read those messages on Twitter where she tried to throw hints at him. Well he knew now, so that was it. And she knew all about weddings, probably, so he had no problems letting her plan it. He’d be the financial aid, like with so many other things. Olivia already knew that, of course, and if she didn’t know, she’d find out when they went to buy the rings. Cain would let her choose whatever she wanted, no matter the price. Price did not matter. Olivia did.

So she got to decide a lot of things. Right now it was what they’d do next… and she wanted to go to Glitter and see Aeron, though she wanted to start the new year with a bang too. Cain wasn’t sure. He’d rather stay here, honestly, but if Olivia wanted to go to Glitter, they would do that. He asked her about it, and she nodded… even if he talked about how both ending and starting the year with a bang wasn’t a bad idea. It’s not that Cain didn’t like to use such words, or that he found them wrong or naughty. Cain did not have such problems with any kind of words. He just wasn’t used to using them, but Olivia made him different. With her. With her, he was different. And with most other people… Cain was Cain.

Olivia talked about how he tempted her, and Cain just smiled, “I’m just letting you know what I think.” He said, but let her slide off his lap and pulling him with her. Cain rose and put his arm around her waist, tugging her close against him again, “It’s not going to be good enough for me either. Though I like your kisses… I like all of you…” And with that he leaned down to give her a kiss, just to confirm what he just said. She tasted so good; she was so good, in so many ways. But he had to let go so they could get going. Cain did that, and moved towards the hall, “Which coat do you want to wear tonight?” He asked, he’d find it for her in case she needed to adjust her hair or put on shoes or something. Then they’d go and see Aeron, though Cain imagined he’d just tag along and not say a lot, but Aeron was Olivia’s friend and he’d not deny her seeing him. Even if he’d rather just have her alone, right here and now.
