Well, a while ago someone told me that CoD takes place a year after DoC.
And at the end of DoC, we see Genesis fly out of a cave, like he's about to stir up more problems.

My question, if CoD is after DoC then why doesn't it deal with Genesis? And does that mean we probably have the next compilation installment coming that could included Genesis?

I've never played DoC, but I watched my friend play it practically through the whole game. And she knows a whole lot more about the game then I do...

But I still have to wonder what was the point of showing Genesis fly out of the cave at the end of DoC? unsure.gif

If anyone can help, please do. laugh.gif

That's what I thought. I reread CoD and I don't remember them saying it's a year after DoC. That's why I'm asking everyone here. tongue.gif

Because it's called Case of Denzel so why would it include Genesis? tongue.gif

But to think that since CoD is after DoC it would at least speak about Genesis once.

By the way, where does it say in Case of Denzel that it's after DoC?

I'm pretty sure that Case of Denzel takes place around the same time that Case of Tifa. tongue.gif

No Case of Denzel takes place two years after ACC. He talks about the meteor crashing down four years ago. Plus AC takes place at the end of 09. DoC occurs in 10. CoD is in 11. Also deepground is referenced in CoD.

And Genesis might still be preparing so that's why he's not there.

But where does it say that in CoD? unsure.gif I read that book and can't remember where it says that.
And I swear sometime ago in some magazine or ACC book it said that the meteor fell four years ago, and that was in the ACC timeline.

So what that about?

You know what, I'll find it. laugh.gif

This is the second paragraph of Case of Denzel from FFVII Web Novels:

Four years ago, when the Lifestream came flowing out from the earth, many residents believed that it was the downfall of the Midgar. Those who tried to flee from the city with their possessions couldn't leave the city. Maybe they had thought that they could once again dream of its prosperity once again if they stayed close. Before long, a city named Edge was built adjacent to the city of Midgar.

The Lifestream flowing out over Midgar was at the end of FFVII when Aerith summoned it to stop Meteor, so that was four years ago.

As for Genesis, he really didn't have anything to do with what was going on in CoD. Denzel was talking more about what happened to him after the Sector 7 plate collapsed, his life with Miss Ruvi, what happened to her when the Lifestream flowed over Midgar, and how he met up with Cloud, Tifa, and Marlene.

Which, of course, makes CoD the last known point on the timeline, other then Nanaki and his kids 500 years in the future.

This is pretty off-topic but I've heard, (on a forum full of mostly Cloti's with like 10% Cleriths) that Square-Enix revises the Ultimania whenever they feel like adding something and that they were going to be making another revision to explain ACC. Of course, I highly doubt this, as it was said by some random stranger over the internet.

You got a link by chance? This sounds interesting.
