In order to promote a friendlier experience...

I've decided to change a few of the rules in order to make Cliff Hanger more family friendly. I've noticed that lately, there are times when people fight a lot and just really upset each other. But as a budding psychology major, I feel that these things simply aren't necessary and that we should all just try and get along. So, when you, the people, fail to make the effort to better yourselves, I, the administrator, have to decide to simply make it for you. Here's a comprehensive list of new rules that are to be implemented as of now:

1. No mean words

I've found that words like "fuck" and "shit" can be used for no good purposes. As such I'm censoring them to much more friendly things such as "love" and "poo". Honestly, I think this alone will help improve the atmosphere here, as when we are unable to draw on our most venomous words, we are unable to inflict our most grievous of wounds. And we don't want to wound our friends here at Cliff Hanger, now, do we?

2. Mandatory apologies

In the case that someone's feelings are hurt in a deep or profound way (i.e., at all) then as of now it is within the power of the administrator or any moderator to demand that the offending party apologize to the offended party. If this is not done, the authority in question is protected in the use of time outs against the offending party. However, if the authority is not sensitive enough in their punishment as to prevent the punished party from getting upset, they too can be held responsible.

3. Acceptable Australian Analysis (A3)

Because most fights start as a result of differing opinions, I've decided that it would be for the best if we all had the same opinions. So, as to get the best ones available, I will be commissioning a panel of users from Australia (widely considered the best place to find an opinion) and asking them about every issue imaginable. Once the panel has decided on an opinion for all of these issues, the results will be posted on the Announcements forum. Once this happens, you are required to hold all of the opinions enumerated in this listing - holding an opinion contrary to the A3's findings will be punishable by time outs or by sending a user to his or her room without supper.

If you take great issue with an opinion of the A3 panel, then you may make a topic arguing your case on Will of the Masses. If your case is sufficient enough to prove that the Australians were wrong on this matter, then we will take it to a vote to see if the opinions of Cliff Hanger need to be amended.

4. Foreign Exchange Program

Cliff Hanger, while diverse, isn't as diverse as it could be. Thus, as is the American way, we're gonna cram diversity down its throat. Soon we will be sending CHampions on mandatory foreign exchange trips to other Internet communities in exchange for one of that community. These trips will last about a month and will allow the CHampion to indulge in the "e-culture" of another group. At the same time, a representative of that same community will come to Cliff Hanger. This way the rest of Cliff Hanger will also get to meet a new friend and learn of new perspectives on life. I've currently had some contact with several prominent websites on this, including FurAffinity and Gaia Online, as well as some lesser known forums, such as one known as Raziel's Domain.

Guests will be expected to be treated with great kindness so as not to offend them. Please do not attempt to impose any of Cliff Hanger's own e-culture on them, lest you cause them some emotional trauma.

5. Mewmaster Protection Act

One user in particular, Mewmaster93, has suffered countless times at the hands of cruel CHampions. Thus, starting today, Mewmaster will receive special protection from the administration. The phrase "Shut up Mew" shall be banned, and also, Mewmaster will be given special treatment just a notch below the special treatment Hat is given. As administrator I expect much better of my fellow CHampions than to be so cruel and hurtful to a child with such clear mental handicaps as Mewmaster.

These five rules are just the first in a series that will be implemented over time to make Cliff Hanger more family-friendly and casual enjoyable. I understand that it will take some time to get used to the new changes, however I will be forgiving at first during the adjustment period. And if you decide to ignore the rules, I will be forced to punish you with 69 lashes. Furthermore, if you're one of those noobs who hides behind your computer monitor, then I'll just demand your address.
