I just want to through this out there to anyone who is planning on getting married.
Make the day your day!!!
What I mean by that is do not let anyone bully you into having a day that you never intended.
I had dreams like any little girl does for her wedding. But due to circumstances, Russ and I wound up at the JP getting married. We had our wedding a few months later. I have to tell y'all. Our day at the JP was perfect!!! We wore matching jeans and t-shirts and went for pizza afterwards. We got married on a Friday so we spent the whole weekend at our home, tucked away from the world and discovering each other.
My wedding day was filled with anxiety. I was sicker than sick and my lack of having a voice of my own and inexperience caused a one year rift between my mom and my aunt - her sister. Totally NOT worth it!
So, if you do plan a wedding, and I'm not against weddings at all, make sure that it is your day and no one bullies you into making is an experience that you will wind up hating.
The ultimate thing to do is to find someone who's planned a successful wedding and ask for their help to make sure the little things aren't overlooked.
Just my two cents.
