Aerial Foundry CF-18 Package

This package includes several CF-18 models representing many Canadian Armed Forces Squadrons featuring both CF-188 and CF-18/B variations in several weapons configurations. Also included in this package are International variations of the F/A-18 that are currently in use by the air forces of Switzerland and Finland.

3D and 2D Panels
Both the VC and 2d panels are extremely well done, with custom gauges throughout. The only default gauge that I have found is the GPS. In the tandem seat models you are situated in the rear seat, and have the proper panels to go along with it. The one draw back in the VC is that there are no click-able switches.

Exterior Model and Animations
Dean Reimer has been modeling F-18s for years and this model is no exception. The exterior model is flawless. The landing gear is the most detailed part of the model. In fact, it is so detailed that when I retract the gear, my performance is improved! The wings fold, the tail hook extends, and one that I like, the mid-air refueling probe pops out!

Sound
Unfortunately there is no sound set included. The sounds are aliases to the default Learjet. I have used the sounds that were included in the F-14D package.

Conclusion
The Aerial Foundry CF-18 is worth every penny. The model, VC and 2D panel are top notch and I give the package:

9/10

Now here are some screen shots of the Package.

I must say that i agree 110% with the review done, the AF CF-188 is one of main flies! The attention to detail in the VC including the canopy reflections / tint make it excellent for multi-player when you're looking at getting the most realism possible. (nota : in a steady formation - colunmn - look up from your VC to the engine exhaust of your wingman.. the view is crazy)

The only 2 downfalls with this wicked model are, in my opinion :

A: The resolution of the HUD in the VC leaves alot of guess-work when your're flying in a realistic position (ie: eye relied between you and HUD).

B: Non-fonctionning Radar, but,. hey.... fsnav...

But otherwise top-notch, above all other grades to AerialFoundry.

Best Regards,
