FS2Crew’s LDS 767 Add-onReviewed by Ludo Lambrechts

Bryan York’s FS2Crew is one of the most unique developers out there. They do not create aircraft, they do not re-paint, they don’t even design flight dynamics………they revolutionize flight simulator aircraft!
FS2Crew is a very nifty program that simulates a team environment in the aircraft. You are not flying solo and work together with your team to pilot your aircraft from one destination to another. Major releases have been made for the PMDG 737 and the Flight1 ATR 72-500, and now continue with an add-on for the Level-D 767. The Level-D 767 add-on is very similar to previous releases, but also has a few modifications to it.
The Level-D 767 by itself is an extremely beautiful aircraft with a lot of nice detail and a ton of free liveries. The sound is amazing and so are flight dynamics. Interior has not been forgotten and the panel is amazing. By itself the Level-D 767 is one of the more complex aircraft out there and requires quite some study to get a grasp of. The FMC has been included and without a previous knowledge of other FMC’s this add-on will require you to read the manual.
FS2Crew adds a lot to the Level-D 767. The models are tremendous and the aircraft was an extremely popular seller. However like every add-on published the cockpits where lonely and quiet. FS2Crew adds that ambience and teamwork though. This add-on merges in nicely with my aircraft. There are no frame rate losses, and click spots in the panel allow me to bring up my controls without hassles or a loss of beauty. It is extremely easy to install and activate as it follows the Flight1 Wrapper system.
This FS2Crew add-on is very similar to the two previous ones. Anyone who has experience with the previous releases will likely not have any problems grasping how to use this add-on. For those that are new to FS2Crew though there is a very informative manual along with an easy to follow tutorial.
If you’ve used other FS2Crew add-ons before you will notice that the product itself does not have many changes as to previous versions. There are enhancements and new techniques used in the programming of this utility, but it is almost a carbon copy of previous releases. However in a product such as this, it doesn’t have to be unique over it’s predecessors. This add-on is enhancing the Level-D 767 and that is what makes it unique.
There is one significant new feature though in the Level-D 767 release of FS2Crew. Now included is the FS2Crew 767 Start Center. This is a new utility which comes in very handy. It allows you to access manuals, websites, and your flight simulator at the click of a button. A handy live weather map is included which is very handy, but also left me very disappointed. The world is made up of more than just the United States of America, air travel occurs everywhere. However the weather map only covers the US of A.
Overall the FS2Crew for Level-D 767 is a very innovative add-on. It really adds to the experience of flight and is ideal for any enthusiast. There is a learning curve, but it can be worked around. If you own any previous FS2Crew add-ons and loved them, I’m sure this one won’t disappoint you either. For their great work I award FS2Crew a 9.5 out of 10.
