Welcome to Caislean Weyr!
It’s the end of the 9th Interval and Pern’s fate lays in the hands of Caislean Weyr.
A cataclysm the likes of which the planet has not seen since its creation has rendered much of the northern lands useless and it’s the job of the few struggling dragonriders left on Pern to re-colonize these harsh lands before Thread returns.

Weyrbowl
On the shores of the massive Llevion lake is the main weyrbowl of Caislean. Mostly sandy but rocky and with minimal vegetation in places, this is the main hub of activity within the Weyr. It is here that dragons land and take-off and ground drills take place.

Llevion Lake
Easily the most dominating feature of the Weyr, this massive lake takes up half of the weyrbowl. Formed by a meteorite impact ages ago, this fresh water lake is pleasantly warm throughout the year. Llevion is well over 800 feet deep in places and fully a mile across. Underwater caverns litter the deeper reaches of this lake, and are the downfall of many a brave young dragon seeking to explore.

Feeding Grounds
A large, fenced off area where the main food source of the Weyr’s dragons roams and grazes. On the far eastern end of the grounds are the stables, where the Weyr’s population of runnerbeasts resides.

The skies above Caislean Weyr and the surrounding area are warm and pleasant. The Dragons soar along for recreation, or Wing practice.

The Lower Caverns
The Lower Caverns are an intricate web of miles of hallways and rooms. They house all of the Storage Caverns. For items that are needed such as cloths, food, liquors, and glows; as well as plenty of rooms for Weyr residents and include a good number of public bathing rooms.

Rider's Weyrs
Where the dragonrider residents of Caislean Weyr house themselves and their dragons. Each weyr contains a large couch for the dragon, a main living room, and a bathing room. Dragonriders can apply for larger, two-person weyrs if they have a weyrmate.

Hatching Sands
A large covered cavern with a sand floor where female dragons come to lay their clutches. The sand is heated by natural hot springs. There are many entrances for dragons and humans alike, as well as tiers of seating for all those that attend the Hatchings.

Candidates Barracks
These are the dormitories for Hatching Candidates positioned directly off the Weyrbowl floor, just next to the Hatching Sands. There are separate quarters for girls and boys but a public bathing room to help non Weyr-bred candidates adjust to Weyrlife. The candidates are directly connected to the kitchens and the hatching grounds.

Kitchens and Dining Hall
This includes the Kitchens - where food is prepared - and the Dining Hall - where the members of the Weyr eat everyday. Ceremonies, like Walking the Tables and celebrations like Hatching Banquets are also held here. The two rooms are connected by a common doorway and meals are usually laid out on long tables in the dining hall, buffet style. The Dining Hall also has a few entrances that lead to the Weyrbowl. The kitchens are directly connected to the candidates barracks and the hatching grounds.

Weyrling Barracks
Located adjacent to the lake, these are the Weyrling dormitories. Each room is large enough to accommodate Weyrling and dragonets. There is a common bathing room and a dragon necessary.

Wher Quarters
Caislean's resident Whers have special quarters created especially for them inside the Lower Caverns. Each room has quick access to the public bathing area and contains a large sand-covered pad for the whers to stay and rest as well as an area for the handler to stay. Hatching sands contained within.

Infirmary
Any injured character can come here to be treated. This place is usually pretty popular during Threadfall or after expeditions.

Wherhandler Lessons
This is where the new Wherhandlers are trained by the current Master Wherhandler. The lessons take place at night anywhere the Master deems necessary, be it Weyr or Hold, though most likely in or near the Weyr. You are expected to read and post in each new lesson to show attendance.

Kalgir Hold
A small hold within a day's walking distance of Caislean Weyr. It's surrounded by farmlands and the vegetation is still lush, despite the devastation of most of Pern.

Southern Continent
Anywhere, including Southern and Honshu Weyrs, located on the Southern Continent. Though much of the coast is devastated, there are still patches of lush vegetation left in this land and the occasional sandy beach.
