| OOC: Yaaay first post. Outdated table, yeah, but it was sitting around, and playing with dohtml sounded fun. |
It had happened again. That feeling of being pulled through water, and that gut-wrenching experience of all laws of physics he had known being turned upside down. The golden light of on the vivid green leaves brightened until everything in sight had become blindingly white. The sounds of leaves in the wind were drowned out by muffled voices, some chattering with one another, others calling out upon recognizing his presence, none clear enough for him to make sense of the fragmented words he did manage to catch.
"The...hell is going on?!"
He knew damn well what was happening. He just wanted the one responsible for this to know what he thought of this.
The slowly returning glow of morning and warmth of spring in the forests near the World Treehad suddenly been replaced with cobblestone dusted in snow, cast in the orange glow of dusk. Scattered people hurried across the streets to attend whatever business was next on the agenda, all keeping a certain radius of distance from the redheaded central point whose blank stare of bewilderment soon narrowed into an unbelieving and irritated glower.
The scarlet haired man ignored the feeling of his heart sinking as frustration took over. The exact damn same. It was just like that time two years ago. And somehow, not that different from his first return to the mannor after the kidnapping. The places he knew and to which he had become accustomed were suddenly gone. After all he had done for that damn spirit she decided to send him to...whatever this place was called. Nowhere in Auldrant, from what he could tell.
One week passed.
The door to the Kaldborg Guest Hostel swung open, the wind driving it up against the wall with a loud clack. The person in the at the threshold wasted no time stepping inside and brushing the accumulation of snowflakes out of his long, blood-hued hair, obviously whipped about and tangled in the storm outside. Casting one last glance at the scenery outside before forcing back the door and with it, deluge of snow and wind, he could not help but notice the difference from the mild spring weather in the last world.
What did she do when he had suddenly disappeared on her? He let out an annoyed grunt, startling one of the nearby customers, as he forced himself to think about something else. Right. Shelter. Given that this place apparently had blizzards in early spring, for which he hadn't prepared himself, he refused to try his luck outside. Emerald eyes locked on the employee working at the front desk, the outsider tilted his head up to get the man's attention.
"Hey. You haven't had any strange guests lately, have you?" he called out, not budging from his place near the door. The man gave him a perplexed expression in return. Weird, just like that place, the people he had encountered so far had recognized him as somehow different. His style of dress, his unfamiliarity with his surroundings and important place names, he stood out as much as he did the last time.
"I'm sorry, could you be more specific, sir?"
That answer earned the inkeeper a deadpan stare for a second before the peculiar guest finally decided to comply. "A Yuan or an Arche. Anyone who doesn't belong here."
"I'm afraid we have no guests registered with either of those names...Would you still like to stay?"
"What do you think?"
"...Very well. May I have your name?"
A pause. "Asch. Just Asch. I haven't decided how long I want to stay."
"Thank you for staying at the Kaldborg Guest Hostel, Mr. Asch. Here is your key. Your room is on the second floor, number 215. We hope you enjoy your stay."
Asch grabbed the key and stuffed it in a pocket as he wandered over to the stairs, taking a sudden turn downstairs as he noticed the signs for a tavern. He could use something warm after hiking all the way from that port town. Who knew, maybe he would find something of use down there.

"Yo, Barkeep! hit me again!" Said the green-haired teen dressed in JUST a red T-shirt and camouflage pants, at the end of the bar. The whole time he'd been there... well until they were so sloshed the Statue of Liberty would look like a Playmate; all eyes were on the Seishin and his weird dress, not just for the weather but in general. All except for maybe the bartender since, what did he care? He was getting paid and absorbing all the misery like a sponge; loving E-V-E-R-Y minute of it fore he allowed his regulars 'just' enough rope so that they wouldn't kill themselves and keep coming back to him... "Under-aged my ass! They just threw me out cuz I was on the Heater!" as the Seishin received his refill.
He Took a few swigs of the hard stuff; this kind of thing wouldn't normally bother him. The Seishin had been at it for years now; use his Divine Power and land on a planet; have adventures for the week it took to recharge... longer if he liked the world, and would haul ass if the place sucked! ...but it had been 2 weeks since he arrived, and after that 7th day he tried but couldn't 'port out.
"Man, I could really use that Hundred G's if I'm in it for the long haul..."
