Moonbeam And Midlight, Approved

Moonbeam and Midlight had arrived at the breeding grounds. Moonbeam sighed as she sat down to rest. She wanted to fight so badly, but she wasn't well. Midlight approached and she sighed again.

"When will I find what I've been looking for?" she whispered to herself quietly. Midlight had been acting strange lately.....

Midlight sat down next to Moonbeam, unsure of what to do next, or even why he had brought them here. The sun was beating down heavily over their backs, and there was no colling breeze. Midlight was getting sleepy, but he must stay awake to watch out for Moonbeam.

Moonbeams tail began to sway and her ears perked towards the fight. She sighed and relaxed her ears, listening to the batlle would only get her riled up. Suddenly, somthing clicked.

"Midlight....why did you bring me here?" Moonbeam demanded. Her tone was soft, but concerned.

"I don't know why I brought you here. It must have been because of my dreams. I was with another wolf, standing here. I was going to have a family, one I knew would last a lifetime." He didn't know who the other wolf was, and he had come here to see if they would meet. He had to watch Moonbeam, and protect her at all costs right now, and so he brought her along.

Moonbeam tilted her head. She didn't understand what was happening. "Do you want to tell me what's really happening?" she was getting irritated.

Moonbeam had always wanted a family, and Midlights words made her cringe. She never knew the true meaning of 'love'.

He was afraid to tell her the rest of the dream. He could see the Fae's face, and it was Moonbeam. "I was able to see the fae's' face, and it was you. I didn't beleive it at first, but it must be a sign from the Heavens. He twitched his tail gain, his ears moving back and forth, trying to catch the sound of their friends in the distance.

"I've.....always wanted a family. But I just don't........." Moonbeam trailed off. She had felt close to Midlight lately. She just wasn't sure about this. Her tail started to twitch nervously.

Moonmean sighed as she thought. She gazed at the sky and watched the cloud sway to the west. "So......do you love me?" Mooonbeam gasped a few seconds later. She hadn't meant to say that...it just popped out!

"Yes Moonbeam. I love you with all my heart. I would die to protect you, and I would do anything you asl of me." Midlight smiled, and stood up. There was something going on in the distance, but he ignored the feeling, not wanting to ruin the moment.

The wind picked up slightly, and Moonbeam shivered. "What if it doesn't work? I don't feel very close to Midlight....." Moonbeam sighed to herself. She wanted a family and to be loved so badly, she was willing to try anything.

"So.... what now?" Moonbeam asked as she wrapped her tail close around her body. The sun was beginning to set as strange clouds approached from the North.

Midlight sighed. Even he didn't know what to do! "We do what you want, what you wish. If you don't wish this, then so be it. I don't want to do anything to you that you'll regret.

"I.....I want a loving family......" Moonbeam whispered into Midlights ear. "I want to be happy, to be loved and accepted for who I truely am...." Moonbeam shivered. She wasn't sure what was going to happen, but the anticipation was killing her.

She inched closer to Midlight, seeking warmth and confort. The sun was setting over the horizon, and the moon was alrady peeking through the clouds. The silver light from the moon made Moonbeam look even more elegant. Her fur shined extravegantly, rivaled only by the moon itself. Her tail seemed to be longer,fuller. And Moonbeam seemed like the very essence of beauty.

Midlight sighed, he knew what she wanted, but what if he couldn't give it to her? He felt her shiver, and moved closer to give her warmth and comfort. The moon shined brightly, and when he looked at Moonbeam, he saw her as a beautiful wolf he had wished to meet. "Moonbeam, under the moonlight, you look as beautiful as you did without the brightness of the moon. I can't help but love you, but I don't want to dissapoint you. What if I can't give you everything you want, and more? Then it would have been for naught, this rising love for you."

"Nothing is truely for naught. Everything has a purpose, a reason for happening." She whipered back. Moonbeam's tail began to sway in the moonlight. She felt safe for once in her life, and wished this moment would never end.

"Nothing, not even the worst of all wolves, is worth nothing. Everything is worth something." she whispered again.

Midlight was curious. Why was the light of the Moon growing brighter? Was it because something bad, or good? "Moonbeam, have you ever heard the superstition about the Moon growing brighter when something bad or good is about to happen?"

" I don't believe I have." she answered slowly. "Why do you ask?" Moonbeam inched closer to Midlight, wondering what he meant.

Moonbeam watched as a shooting star flew across the navy sky and lit it up like a fresh burning ember. She closed her eyes and sighed happily.
