Thinking

Shadow trottd up to the shore line and smirked. "Just wait." he muttered to himself. He smirked as he gazed into the water. He didn't want to be loved. He was happy.

Shadow began to think of his dreams, and all the strange things that had happened in the past few days. His life was a mess, but he didn't care. He laughed in the face of death, and spit in the face of love. What could go wrong?

He turned as he heard paws treading the beach. The fog was thick, and the water loud. His hearing was excellent and his vision unmatched, but this fog was strange.

Kammy walked along the beach, not listneing to anything. She kept on walking, then tripped over Shadow. She looked back, and he was standing there. She stood up quickly, and walked farther away.

Shadow gazed out into the ocean. "Well? Are you going to finally tell me the truth and stop leing, or just keep me hanging?" he flicked his tail, a habit he had recently aquired. He inspected a small starfish and dipped his paw into the cool water.

Shadow wanted to know what was really going on, and he wanted to know now. He hated not knowing things. He hated it so much... words couldn't describe his feelings.

She ignored him. She didn't want to talk to him, not to anyone. She kept walking, towards a steep cliff. She was planning to jump off, because she couldn't stand the pain, and the hurt, she was putting everyone through.

Shadow didn't move. "Talking normally help, you know." Shadow knew what she was thinking. " You'll just cause more pain, if you do that." he grabbed the starfish and set in down on the sand. He watched it slowly curl, and uncurl, over and over again.

"I let you in, and you betrayed me." Shadow thought as he watched the starfish. "Why?" he asked himself over and over again.

She looked back, and her eyes were Orange, instead of red. "I leid to you, because I wanted you to accept me for who I was, but I knew you never would. My actual self? I'm a messenger. I can talk to the earth, and communicate. I was afraid, that you would think I was weak, and I showed you who I wish I was. But I ended up hurting our trust." She looked away, then spoke again. "I wouldn't be causing more pain, but happiness. I know you'd rather see me gone, and so would everyone else. Might as well end it now."

Shadow tilted his head in Kammy's direction. " Being yourself in being strong. Not being afraid of who you really are and accepting yourself in true strength." Shadow 'tossed' the starfish back into the ocean.

"If you really wish to end it, do so. We only wish for you to be happy. We are already happy. Well, they are." Shadow finally faced her. "I let you in. I haven't even let Moonbeam or Midlight in yet. I let you in off the bat because you were different. I could see that clearly. Atleast, I thought I could." Shadow felt very betrayed.

"I can't be happy if I don't know what happiness is, can I?" Shadow said, pointed out the obvious.

She knew he was right, but she was afraid. "If I show you the real me, you won't laugh?" She looked up, and saw Shadow staring at her. She was afraid, afraid of herself.

"Have you ever seen me laugh at anything?" Shadow said jokingly. "No Kammy, of course not. Just because you betra.....hurt me doesn't mean I'll do it right back to you." Shadow looked at the sky. The sun was setting, and darkness was flowing in, but he wasn't in any hurry.

"Only show me if you wish. I don't want to force you." he said with his muzzle still pointing towards the sky. He watched some birds in a v-line soar overhead and wished he could fly with them.

She closed her eyes, and in seconds, her eyes had turned orange, and she was illumiminated in a Blue Green glow. The water started getting higher, the wind rougher. Soon, the birds had landed in a nearby alcove, away from the winds. The sand started flying, and the waters were almost 17 feet high. "This is the real me. I cause more destruction in this from than my other. But this one takes forever to die down, almost 5 hours. I can't come back to the pack, ever. I'm not worth it."

"No one will make you come back. But if you leave now, you may never start a pack. You wouldn't be able to handle it. You would kill you entire pack one by one, and then what?" a wave crashed over Shadow, but he remained like a statue. Sand flew in his eyes, but he did not blink. The wind almost carried him off, but he did not run.

"Don't you see? There's nothing you can do to me that hurts. Nothing." Shadow said, although it wasn't entirely true. Kammy had hurt him when she betrayed him, but he didn't mention it. Shadow watched as the elements around him grew with fury, but he ignored this.

She sighed, then looked Shadow in his eyes. "I can hurt you. I hurt your trust, your friendship. Nothing will make me forget, nothing. How could I come back? Moonbeam is hurt, Midlight will hate me, and you'll no longer trust me. It hurts knowing this. If I'm gone, no one will miss me"

"That's not true. You would be missed greatly." Shadow replied. "Like I said, no one will make you return, but do as you wish." Shadow stood up and turned his back to Kammy.

"The world is an unfair place, that's true. But you mustn't lat your mistakes hold you back. Learn from them and accept who you are." Shadow started toward home, unsure of his next move or Kammy's

Kammy wasn't sure what to do first, but she soon decided. She got up, and slowly started to follow Shadow. "I would like to return."

"As you wish." Shadow nodded and began towards home. He started to think of Moonbeam and Midlight, hoping Moonbeam was recovering well. He also woundered where Midlight was, sincce they had agreed to meet here.

Shadow turned to face Kammy. "Tell me, what is it you really want?" he asked catiously.
