Moonbeam slowly entered Shikoku Lake, her tail swaying in the breeze. She had left her lonesome den to go on a walk. Ever since Midlight had left, she was terribly lonely. She wished to have another by her side, romantic or not. Moonbeam stopped at the edge of the lake, and peered into her own reflection, striking blue eyes looking back at her. The moon was full tonight, and it hung over the water so that it's reflection gazed back at Moonbeam as well. She sighed and sat down at the waters edge, her large, fluffy tail curled around her in an attempt to keep warm. Fall was coming, and this land had been somewhat chilly lately.

Moonbeam perked her ears, and her eyes darted side to side. There was another... it wasn't Shadow... and it certainly wasn't Midlight. "If that fool ever shows his face around here again I'll....." Moonbeam grimaced at the thought. Her small nose caught a whiff of the newcomers scent, and she relaxed, realizing it was that of an unfamiliar. Hopefully they would be friendly.....

Kamal sighed, walking along through the tall grass bent upon the ground from so many a canine walking through here, forming a path. He let his limbs lead him, a slow pace for his lonliness. So lonley... He knew he longed for company... Maybe even a partner in... Love? With a sigh, he doubted it, thinking negatively upon himself for the upteenth time that day.

Kamal, why do you even bother. You've hardly met a female who's a beauty who isn't taken. The ones you like for their personality don't ever like you. There's no fae you'd ever find who'd just happen to be a gorgeus canine and be a replica of your imaginations in personality?...

He stopped in his tracks. He'd arrived at Shikokou Lake, he knew it, and a fae sat there at the water's edge. Orbs went a little larger, entranced by her beauty. He looked to her back, and he saw her examining her reflection. He stood still for a moment, trying to grasp what he'd just come upon.

Like her.

Moonbeam slowly turned to look in the direction of the approaching sound. Her blue orbs fell upon a black and white male, who looked very kempt, and yet he seemed to walk as if there was no hope or love in the world. Moonbeam felt a pang of sorrow and empathy for this lone brute deep within her heart. She had stood where he was now many, many time. Moonbeam finally turned to face him full front, and spoke. Hello there. May I ask.... your name?" Moonbeam was hesitant about newcomers, especially brutes. Not all of them had friendliness in mind. Most of them harassed her, and Moonbeam had become very untrusting of those she did not know personally.

Moonbeam lifted her head to get a better look at him. Her pelt shone in the moonlight, and her fur seemed to glow. "He looks nice.... but looks can be decieving...." Moonbeam reminded herself. She felt like she could trust him, so she remained in her spot. Something about this wolf.... he seemed almost harmless. Moonbeam stood her ground and waited for a reply.

Kamal was silent for a second, impressed by how the moon's shine seemed to make the fae now looking at him glow. "M-My name?" he repeated, then scolded himself.

Keep your cool! No need to get nervous. Just talk to her as though she were a normal wolf.

"My name is Kamal." he said, approaching the fae, trying to keep calm and not make a fool of himself. "And what would a gorgeous fae such as you be called?" He was now only a few feet away, and he sat down, smiling gently at the fae.

He saw a little doubt in her eyes, and immediately was curious. "Fae, there is no need to worry, I shall not bring any harm to you. I am not the type: It is truly against my nature to ever do such a thing." What he said was thoroughly true.

I wonder... I wonder what she thinks of me, I truly do... He thought with an mental sigh.

A grin tugged at Moonbeams maw as he spoke. He seemed... sincere. That comforted her greatly. Moonbeam inspected the brute. His pelt was not extravagant, but even if it was only black and white, Moonbeam thought it looked somewhat wonderful. "My name is Moonbeam. But my friends call me Moon." Her muscles were no longer tense, and her tail had resumed it's position around her body. Her orbs fell to his own eyes. "You're eyes... they're... interesting." Moonbeam was fascinated with his orbs. They were quite odd, but in a good way.....

Moonbeam's posture sat errect, slightly giving away her postion as an Alphess. "It doesn't matter. I'm not really an Alphess. It's only empty words without a pack." She accidentaly let a sigh escape her lips and she blushed slightly inder her fluffy, white fur. "I'm sorry..." she whispered softly, "Things have been troubling lately. But, anyway, where are you from?" Moonbeam hoped the brute didn't think her sigh was meant for him. She just felt like she was worthless. After all, how can you rule over nothing?

"Moon? How attracting: A name that seems to suit you well." He smiled a little once more. He chuckled at her comment on his eyes, though he knew it was true. "I know. They're quite odd, not something you see in every wolf, eh?" He'd grown used to them, and the comments that came along with them.

He noted her posture again: He'd taken note of it before, but finally pondered over it. She seemed to hold herself as though she were a high-ranking, alphess, even... He pondered over this before hearing the sigh. He became concerned: Did this fae find him boring?

He looked at her square in the face, but not so he might make her uncomfortable, just a gentle gaze. "No, no, it is fine..." He muttered at her apology. And at her excuse, he was worried for her. "Well... This is actually my homeland, here. I was born in the neutral lands..." He paused, then questioned her. "What makes things troubling for you? I-I'm sorry if it is going into something private..."

Moonbeam was startled by his compliment, but quickly settled down. When her repose was finally obtained, she replied. "It's nothing really. It's just..." Moonbeam sighed again, "I'm so tired of being alone. I'm supposed to be an Alphess.... but how can I reign over a pack.... if there's no one in it?" Moonbeam asked an obvious question. "That's right Moonbeam. You can't. You just can't." she thought as she finished speaking. "My so called 'mate' ran off out of nowhere, so I have no one.... no one at all." Moonbeam quickley closed her mouth. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to snap.... I'm just frustrated." Moonbeam looked at the ground and traced a circle with her grey paw. She looked back up, and her voice turned smooth, almost seductive. "You didn't deserve that. I apologize."

Moonbeam smiled slightly, hoping she hadn't hurt his feelings. She was a very nice fae, she was just overwhelmed at the moment. Moonbeam look up at the stars. They dazzed her, as if they were praising her for regaining her composure so quickly. She usually had a very dignified clamness about her, but tonight all she wanted was to not be alone anymore. Moonbeam hoped this brute planned to stay a while. It would help her greatly.

Kamal nodded silently as she relieved her problems to him, feeling her pain, as he'd gone through much the same. As she finished with an apology, he shook his head, dissaprovingly. "No, no. Do not apologize..."

He stood, moving those few feet to sit next to her. He didn't know why, a feeling triggered the movement so suddenly, and probably the feeling he needed to reassure her. The same feeling, deep within his chest, pulled him into another unexpected action. He moved his head to look directly at her, then gave an affectionate lick to an aud of hers. Orbs widened slightly at his action. He was terribly surprised with himself, and found it was him who was now feeling though he should apologize.

He stuttered over words, trying to think of some explanation. He looked to the ground, trying to avert his eyes from Moon. With a slightly nervous look in his eyes, he looked to the fae, trying to find her reaction.

{{So gushy. x3 No muse... *sigh*}}

Moonbeam wasn't expecting any affection. When he licked her, it surprised her greatly. Moonbeam felt a smile tugging at her maw, and turned to face him. "It's...... It's quite alright." Moonbeam felt that it had been spontaneous.... probably just a pity kiss. No big deal. Just as long as he didn't try to make her have pups... she really didn't care. It was nice to finally have some affection. She didn't want to admit it, but she had actually enjoyed the affection somewhat. Moonbeam eventually let the small smile show, but it was just barely there.

"Thank you." Moonbeam said simply. She appreciated the fact that he seemed to be very sincere and caring. Even though Kamal had never met her, he cared that she was hurting, and that meant a great deal to her, even if she didn't show it. She wasn't used to any affection at all, but she remembered it from her puphood, and missed it greatly. She wanted to return the favor, but felt that it would be inappropriate for her to do so.
