The First Hunt, Shadow and Kammy

Shadow trotted into the forest. He was regaining his strength and was feeling better. He caught a wiff of some game, unsure of it's type, and lay close to the ground as he crept closer. "Ready?" he whispered as they approached the unknown

"Ready" she whispered. She smelt the air, and smelt an Elk. "The game, it's elk, and many of them. They should not be here. There home is up in the Fire Round hills, far away from here."

"Maybe something drove them?" he pricked his ears. "Wait, they are running. It doesn't matter though. I'm sure we can handle them. he inches closer to the herd. "You break left, I'll go for the right. There. See the old one? He is sick, but still has plently of meat. Now!"

Shadow was a cunning and experienced hunter. He circled around the older elk as it became aware of Shadows presence. He lept forward and with a swiping motion aimed at the legs. He barely missed, and was knocked over a a younger elk. He quickly regained his position and lept for the head.



"Now!" he yelled to Kammy, not far off. The elk broke into a run with Shadows jaw locked onto its neck.

Kammy ran at the old Elk. She knew that the next best place to bring down a game is the legs. She got behind the Elk, and jumped. "I goht iht!" she mumbled, because she had gotten a hold of a back leg. She bit down hard, then SNAP! The leg broke, and the Elk went down.

Shadow tumbled to the ground, but did not release his grip on the neck. The elk was still thrashing at a desperate and futile attempt to save its life. He let go just long enough to get a better aim and grabbed onto the throat. Blood gushed onto his face, but the deed was done. "Come on. Lets move this out of the way of the herd. We have no use for them anymore."

He dragged the elks body behind a bush and began at the elks side. He beckoned for Kammy to eat. "I know Alphas usually eat first, but we can share for now. he said with that little hint of a smirk. "Finally. Someone who can hunt." he thought as he ate his fill.

"Thank you," she replied, surprised that he was offering to share the meat at the same time. She walked up, and ripped of a leg. She turned, and took it to the next tree over. To let Shadow have as much as he wants.

Shadow watched her from the corner of his eye. "Have as much as you want. I'm no glutton.There's plently enough for both of us to eat our fill and still have some left overs. He said between mouthfuls.

He was hungry. Very hungry. He hadn't had the strength to hunt in days. It was a miracle he could carry her last night. "Does she give me strength? he wondered to himself. Then he shrugged and began to eat again.

She nodded, then started eating again. Why am I so nervous? she wondered. Is it because of some weird gut feeling about Shadow, or is it that I'm falling in love? She shook her head at this part, and went back to eating.

Shadow had eatin his fill and his face was covered in blood. He chuckled to himself, figuring he looked like he had just massacred a herd. He walked over to the tree across from Kammy and laid down, basking in the warmth of the sunshine.

His fur had a brilliant shine to it, the the sunlight only illuminated it. He laid out lazily and panted only slightly. He felt great. His strength had completely returned, and he was full. "What a beautiful day." he said aloud. "Maybe others will be out. I hope more wolves join our pack. We need a lot more members in order to be succesful and secure." he swished his tail back and forth, watching the shine move around.

"Not that I don't already feel secure." he said, hoping he hadn't offended her. " I only meant there is strength in numbers."

"Hello there." an elegant white wolf padded over to Shadow and Kammy. " A succesful hunt? The least I should expect from you, Shadow." she smirked and sat beside him. "So, tell me. How are things in the Rosewood pack?" She flicked her tail from side to side.

"Just fine, thanks." He sat up. "Hungry? Oh wait..." he looked closely at her muzzle. "You look like you've done a little hunting yourself. I suspect you took it down easily, eh, Moonbeam?"

"Funny you should ask. I had to. It seems there are very few wolves around here. You need to kill it without hesitating, or you'll lose your game. I DO need others, but I can handle it." she looked over to Kammy, noticing her for the first time. "Oh," she said a little strangley. "Who is this?"

"This is Kammy. The newest addition to my pack. Actually, the only addition. She came from a place far away." He looked over at Kammy.

"I see. You're lucky. I've had to do everything on my own so far. Not that I mind or anything. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. It can be fun, at times." she swept her tail around and brushed it against the tree. "Where are you from? she asked Kammy. "Wait, let me guess. Some horrible far off place that should never be spoken of?" Moonbeam giggled as she inched closer to shadow.

Shadow inched away a tad bit from Moonbeam, but barely enough to be noticed. He looked quite uncomfortable. " What IS she doing? I've told her a hundred times that we're just friends. Just because we spent one night..........." he thought as he shook his head.

Kammy wasn't sure if she should trust this new wolf, but because Shadow seemed to, she did. But she had a gut feeling that something would happen to this beautiful she-wolf, and Kammy would be jealous.

"Well? Hellooo?" Moonbeam stepped closer to Kammy and looked her in the eyes. "I asked you a question." Moonbeam sighed and sat down beside Shadow again this time brushing her tail against him.


Shadow stood up and walked back over to the carcass of the elk. He pretended as if he was inspecting it. "Moonbeam, don't start this." he sighed as the thought to himself.

Kammy looked at Moonbeam, and replied. "My name is Kamontrian, Kammy for short. And yes, I come from a land far away, and Yes, it shouldn't be spoken about." She did NOT like this wolf at all, and as she saw Moonbeam cuddle with Shadow, a growl rose from deep in her throat.

"Aww,what's wrong? Jealous?" Moonbeam inched even closer to Shadow, just daring Kammy to do something. Moonbeam giggled as she stood to leave. She trotted to leave, and walked by Kammy. "I'd watch my back, if I were you." she smirked and flicked her tail in Kammys face as she exited.


Shadow sighed deeply. "I'm glad that's over with. Man, one night and they think they're in love." he joked to himself.

She growled at Moonbeam, and snipped at her tail. "I don't like that wolf, Shadow. Who is she? How do you know her?" Why was she acting like you were mates? She spit out the last sentence, like it was a poison.
