Appearance:
Kiyou is the type of girl that when you look at her, the first word that will pop into your mind is 'fluffy'. Not only because of her appearance but because of her personality as well, which seems to enjoy hanging about the air around her. Her light brownish golden hair flows about her at waist length, outlining her child like face very finely. In her hair, she keeps a trinket, round in shape and bound to her hair with chestnut colored leather, almost like an earring, it serves as a reminder about her dear father. The golden hoop has a light blue gem resting on it, while the leather has a light red gem tied to it. From faraway the trinket seems almost to be beads.

Her eyes are a misty green, it makes it seem like she's looking elsewhere than she really is. Sometimes she actually is, considering she has a great many questions in her head she is currently trying to solve. Her skin is a creamy color that just makes one think even more of that particular word 'fluffy'. Kiyou is rather tall for a girl, but not the tallest out there, at full height she is 5'7, when she's slouching she's around 5'5. Her body is proportioned rather well, her arms just stopping below her hips while her legs make up most of her height. Her torso is small compared to others and she certainly doesn't have a large breast size and probably never will. Her curves are slowly starting to show but considering her normal attire one usually doesn't notice.

She prefers to wear a white flowing shirt, held up by straps on her shoulders. Just above her breast the shirt seems to open up like a flower and it's petals, so to speak, flows just over her chest. The puffy sleeves of the shirt stop just above her elbow, grabbing to her arm tightly here. Around her waist she wears a loose multilayered rope, or rather string, which doesn’t seem to serve much purpose at all except to match the necklace upon her neck. The necklace is just like her 'belt' except it has a blue stone falling off it. This necklace once belonged to her mother. On her legs she wears blue skin tight shorts, I guess you could call them, though they end just above the knee. But of course some of the women don't approve of this, so other times she must wear the same colored skirt which flows to the floor. Her feet are usually covered by white ankle high boots, but sometimes she wears light colored slippers.

Personality:
Kiyou is a very strong willed and imposing twelve-year-old. If she wants something done she can't do and she wants it done right, then gosh darn it, it's gonna get done and done right! She refuses to stand for any wishy washyness in her simple state of mind. But she's a bit lazy at times, rather liking to take a cat nap in the afternoon sun than really work on anything.

Unfortuantly for her, that doens't often happen, so more often than not, while she does the work she so despises, she'll make a game out of it. Kiyou can make a game out of anything, going into the imaginerary world she calls her own. She's even given it a name, Shalira. She's completely enraptured by her imaginary land, where she can see all the dragons, flutters, firelizards and wherhounds at all times.

Kiyou finds herself to be very much like a cat, she is pleased by the simplist things, patient with even the most annoying child or man and irritated if another bothers her for to long and she's tired.

The highlight of every day for Kiyou, is running among the plains and immersing herself in Shalira. But of course, she also enjoys her dancing and singing.

History:
Kiyou was the daughter of a Trader named Telgan, and her mother was named Lisa. The three were always on the move, ever since she was born. Going from one Hold to the next, picking up supplies, trading and then moving on. It was a fairly peaceful life for her, though she did wish many a day that her parents would settle down, especially when they started to go West when she was nine Turns old. Kiyou heard many tales of the dragons and always wished she could see one! Imagine her shock and hurt when her mother finally broke it to her that there were no more dragons because of the Dragon's Bane.

"N..no more?" she had asked brokenly, her face a mask of tragedy.

"No more." her mother had replied, shaking her head.

Kiyou's father had come back to their small camp that night after searching the area for bandits, to find his little princess sobbing brokenly in front of the fire! Of course he had to find out what was wrong! So he went over to the small five year old, scooped her up, and set her on his hip.

"Now why are you crying little one?" her father had asked.

"B..because! *hic* T..the dr*hic*agons a..re gone!" she had replied. This created new tears, and Telgan silently shushed his child.

"Now where did you hear that?"

"M..mother..."

"Well your mother may have been right long ago but not anymore!"

"W..what do you.. m..ean?" By this time young Kiyou had stopped crying and was looking up into her father's face with bright curiosity. Her father glanced about him mysteriously and then leaned closer to whisper in her ear.

“Because my dear, child. The last clutch has hatched, a queen with it,and the dragons have returned!” he whispered quietly, his eyes twinkling at his daughter. Kiyou’s face had immediately brightened, a smile splitting her lips.

“Truly!?” she had cried in joy.

“Truly.” Her father replied, laughing at her.

Kiyou had jumped squealed with happiness and jumped off her father’s lap to go tell mother. Her mother had smiled at her and nodded, saying 'That's good.' and then Kiyou had danced away into the tall grasses, soaring among the green. As she danced through the swaying leaves, a flicker of an image had entered her mind. An image of a small gold fire lizard and suddenly she had been thrown into the beautiful world of hers named Shalira. All around her she saw various dragons, firelizards, flutters and wherhounds and some would look at her when she talked to them. Some would ignore her, or not seem to hear her and yet others, talked back.

Kiyou grew the next three years with this world all to herself, the world she made her own little tunes and dances about, never telling anyone of her secret place. Finally, she turned twelve and the whisper spread that another canidate search had begun. Kiyou was bubbling with excitement of course and she began humming a tune about the unhatched dragons in the midday sun, the sky a beautfiful blue overhead. It was one such midday again, when a dark shape appeared overhead. Kiyou didn't both to look up, for she knew who it was, it was one of the dragons who spoke to her in Shalira, so of course she thought she had entered her small world again. But when the dragon landed, she was very mistaken. Looking up and toward the bronze dragon, her eyes grew wide. Her father went to greet the bronze dragon rider as a brown and blue dragon landed as well.

As her father talked to the riders, she decided she just had to check. So she went into Shalira once more and searched out the bronze dragon. She stood before his great form and simply asked, "Are you really real?"

The dragon snorted as he replied, Of course I am.

Then, Kiyou came back to herself and realized her father had been shaking her.

"So, what he says is true." the bronze dragonrider said to himself. That's when Kiyou realized that Shalira was a world where she could find almost every telepathic creature on Pern. Almost. She's been finding her limitations lately since she first realized she had that ability. Kiyou was then told she was to be taken back to the Weyr, for the one they had been Searching for was her.

Kiyou was too shocked to say anything, but pack her bags, say good-bye to her parents and recieve their gifts and then be off. Between of course was slightly disturbing, but she was alright otherwise and now she has come to the Weyr, waiting anxiously for the next Clutch.

Ok, just a few niggly little bits in the history. The dragon's only recently returned, and only started disappearing about two turns ago. So if she's 12 now she probably wouldn't have been 5 then, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and it would be better if you could make it clearer when they all moved West, as that would only have stated happening around 5 turns ago. That's just minor though ;D

Fixed it XD I believe the new part of the sentence in the first paragraph in her history should fix both those problems approximatly. :3 Tell me if I'm wrong. And a rewording in the bit after Shalira being discovered
