yes for curiosity's sake, i'd just like to see if anyone here or anyone's friends are taking ABRSM exams for band instruments, such as flute or french horn or whatsoever? Cos it's pretty rare in Singapore, isn't it? or such exams are not available in Singapore at all?

ABRSM exams for wind instruments are available. I don't think it's that rare as I know quite a lot of people who hold grades and even diplomas for their instruments.
You can get the syllabus and entry form from the ABRSM office at the 3rd floor of VCH. The fees range from about $150 to about $270 for Grade 8. As for Trinity and Guildhall, I know they do offer graded exams but I'm not too sure where their offices are. |

There is... you just have to go check it out at the ABRSM main office (don't know what it is called). err i don't know where it is though. or you can try TCL, both syllabus very much alike. for diploma i think TCL is slightly more easier. AB is more troublesome IMO.

eh, jz go to VCH.. get the application form.. take that little booklet over there with all the syllabus and stuff . will help you choose which pieces u might wanna play. that little booklet also includes all the scales that you need to learn . ermz . for grade 6 , 7 and 8 practical for abrsm, you will require a grade 5 pass for theory (abrsm) .. unless you wanna take practical musicianship . yeap.. hope that helps.. :)
