1) Stationary background(non-scrolling)
The background here, as you may have noticed, doesn't move when you scroll the page. This is a cool effect, and can create a great sensation, when combined with the right background. Here's how to do it:
(Note: You must first know how to work with CSS to do this.)
a) First you must set the background image in either the body tag in the HTML code, or in the body section of the style tags(<style></style>), or CSS, which is where the effect will be created.
Next, you must set the background attachment property of the body section in the CSS, like this: BODY{background-attachment: fixed}
c) You should also make sure that the background image covers the entire screen, because if you do the next step, with too small of a picture, it will leave blank white spots where it can't cover.
d) Finally, you need to, in the body section of the CSS, set the background-repeat property to "fixed," like this: BODY{background-repeat: fixed}

There various ways to learn programming languages. First off you can buy an html or q basic or css for dummies. also, there various sights. like the place I downloaded msn + from. The offer a pop3 guide so you can program your msn thing. or you just download htmlkit and wing it.

Anyways, I have some friends that, long long ago, were interested in HTML and that kinda stuff. They would talk about it all the time, and I had no clue what they were talking about. So, I thought I would do some research, and look into some of the stuff they were talking about. It turned out that this so called "HTML" was what was used to build web pages, and that got me really interested. A little while later, my uncle gave me a computer, and it had some of his old work still on it. And guess what I found......some old HTML files! So, I got hard to work decoding these files, teaching my self the language. After a while, and lots of hours searching on google looking for HTML tutorials, I thought I knew everything about HTML, so I tried to find something else to learn. So, I looked up HTML's partner in crime, "javascript." I studied and studied and learned everything there was to know about javascript, and then found another cool thing, "CSS", or cascading style sheets. So, once again, I learned tons and tons about CSS, and then I found something even cooler than all of those put together, well actually, it was all of them put together! It was called "DHTML", or dynamic HTML, which is using javascript to dynamically format HTML to look cool with CSS! So, that is what i'm currently working on, using all of my skills to make web pages look awesome, and do everything that makes a web page so cool. In conclusion, that is why I started this forum, to test out my skills on a real web page, cause I got hundreds at home, just tests though. So, if ya wanna know anything web page oriented, internet oriented, or just some computer stuff, i'm your guy!

One of my most favorite web sites for learning stuff, any kinda stuff, is W3Schools.com. It taught me so much, like html, dhtml, CSS, javascript, java, tcp/ip(don't ask), xpatch, xml, xsl, xquery, and so on and so forth. If ya need any info, go here first.

Now if you just want examples to implant into your pages, then Javascript.com is the place to be!

For a complete javascript tutorial, and some nifty javascript cut n' paste codes, I went to Javascript Mall.com.
