Appearence:
Sazori is a petite young asian-appearing woman standing barely 5'5 and very thin. Lean muscle lines her body and there is very little in the way of fat on her. Despite her rather small bust and slight frame she does not look like a child - quite the contrary is the case, mostly from the way she carries herself. Her features are elegant and feminine yet strong and not delicate appearing.

Her face is halfway between round and oval, but appears longer because of her high cheekbones. She has long black hair with very subtle hints of deep brown. It is predominantly straight aside from a few waves and falls to her middle back. Layered with a few bangs, her hair is beautifully maintained. Her eyes - like her heritage - are oriental. They are deep mossy green, pure with no trace of hazel or blue anywhere near them. However only in the light will a person really notice her odd eyes. Pure black eyelashes are naturally long and full rendering the everyday use of charcoal eyeliner useless.

When performing she dresses to the occasion, the latest colors and styles from around Pern. But who doesn't pull out their most fashionable for things like gathers? It is also for these that she pulls out her makeup. On an average day she wears comfortable yet attractive clothes, her skin is light olive, not pasty white nor does she sport a southern tan it is somewhere in the middle and she can wear almost anything.

Sazori takes care of herself, watching what she eats and enjoys staying in shape, she has to as a harper. She likes to look good, but doesn't fret over it too much.


Personality:
On stage she is unrecognizable, confident almost to the point of arrogance, sassy, and seems to love to be the center of attention. But how far from the real girl can you get. Offstage she is a normal young woman, rather quiet and modest and will always try to play down her achievements and push the attention to someone else rather than basking in the glory.

Sazori carries herself well, she is warm and friendly, genuine and self-confident. She despises the drama seekers and those people who are...fake. Her actions speak more than what she believes for she's not afraid to try new things or get her hands dirty. Anyone who befriends her will always find themselves doing things they never believed they would, she is that girl with the soft reassuring smile that will bring out the things people never knew they had. Sazi is reassuring and if someone around her falls she will be the first to laugh but also to reach out a hand to help them up.

Sazi is at ease amongst all people, young and old, male and female. Her intelligence, large vocabulary, as well as being a well travelled young lady allow her to carry on a conversation with just about anyone. However, either her exotic beauty or her personality takes it's toll on the males and usually she has her fair share of suitors. In this realm she has set a look but don't touch standard as she is very selective with her guys and keeps any sort of relationship or fling very private. Because of this she seems rather unattainable - something that in itself draws more guys seeking the challenge.

What she is not is bubbly, trashy or immature. She is a classy girl, strong, sensible and just enjoys every moment. Of course on occasion she'll be down, that's usually the time when she'll slip off for a moment to be alone.


History:
Before Sazori there was Zaiyara, a gifted young woman from a small hold. She worked in the fields alongside her mother until the age of 14 when she finally earned herself a passage to the Harper Hall. Coming from a relatively small community, Zaiyara was naiive and it wasn't long before some of the journeymen took notice - of her ethnic appearance and her naiivity. What happened next is a story no one should have to tell. At barely 15 she found herself surrounded by males, each filling her mind with twisted logic. A rather antisocial lad of 22 took special notice and he courted her and finally won her heart, he seemed nice at the time. Nyhiron, as his name was, offered to tutor the girl and at first he did just that. But the times became later and later, soon she was sneaking out to meet him long after the masters had gone.

Late one night he led her to a different room, one in the lower storage area - reasoning that people had complained the music playing had kept them up. Nyhiron tried convincing Zaiyara, but fearful she refused his request. When his pleading led to the same refusal he raped her. Over the course of the next few months it was the same, Nyhiron using weak excuses to use the girl. When a bulge appeared in her abdomen her masters questioned her gently, and she spilled the whole story after a few concerned conferences were held. Nyhiron was taken by dragonrider that very afternoon, probably to a weyr to answer for his crimes. Zaiyara stayed for the remaining months of her pregnancy, the girl forming close bonds with the master harpers who helped free her.

A little over 8 months into the pregnancy Zaiyara went into labor, no matter what the healer did she could not stop the child. After a long exhausting struggle the baby girl was born, but exhaustion soon claimed Zaiyara who died from blood loss only hours after the baby was delivered. The masters named her Sazori.

Luck and fate smiled on Sazori as tiny as she was that she was ready to live on her own and that sicknesses were mild and few and far between. She grew up in the Harper Hall, tagging along with one master or another learning everything she could take in. They had always told her her mothers true story, perhaps leaving out a few bits until she was older but it never seemed to bother the little girl - her reasoning, no one else at the Hall had a mommy or daddy either. But nevertheless it seemed she had an inborn gift for music.

Sazori travelled to weyrs with the harpers, performing alongside them and solo at gathers. Soon there was talk about her around the weyrs and major holds and people wanted to see this "child prodigy" So she grew up in the social realm learning the nuances that only those raised in it can. Her popularity only grew since and for the past two turns she's been travelling solo, Sazori will try for her master's rank when she returns to the Hall to complete her training.
