Moiraine sat quietly at her desk, her pen in one hand and her head resting thoughtfully in the other. There had been a few candidates arrive but the clutch was so large that they needed more. Chores would have to be done and room assignments, but that could wait until they had a sufficient number of candidates. Well for the time being she supposed she could read a little. The woman sat straight and picked a book out from one of the drawers, bound in dark leather an well used so that the title could no longer be seen or even read for that matter.

At her feet slept her large Vyrin female, Altaire, who gave quiet snores every once in a while. On the whole it was rather quiet around here - not something one would expect from a weyr with two large clutches.
She leafed through the pages till she found the page she had left off on. As her eyes scanned over the inked words and she soon became lost in the story.

Aeirie stood uncertainly before the barracks. A bag hung over her shoulder with everything she had brought. Varso, Siria and Cisa were perched on her, Varso on her head, Siria on her left shoulder and Cisa on her bag. The girls russet hair was tied back from her delicate face, and her amber eyes looked nervously out at the world.

Suddenly awake the female Vyr Wolf stood and sniffed at the door.
I believe there is a candidate outside, Raine
Thanks Altaire, though perhaps you should come lay back down so as not to scare her. Not many people have seen your type
indeed.

Altaire quietly turned about and settled at the base of the dark wooden desk. Her vivid emerald eyes however looked expectantly at the door awaiting for the girl on the outside to step in. Moiraine smirked with amusement at the Vyrin and marked the page in her book before setting it down. She shuffled some papers and came up with an empty roster, she would be needing this.

Soft boots padded lightly down the cold halls in the weyr followed by a light throb of a purr. Strictly trained ears caught the sound of another in the hall way, and she slowed her pace smoothly. The woman had left the rider that had taken her here at the bowl, managing to find her way into a hall and hoping is was the right one to be taking to the candidates barracks. She’d told the rider, Th’or that she would be fine, and that she was expecting someone to take her to his new weyr to check up on his onyx. Hopefully the man would listen to her and actually do as she asked. The young woman stopped slowly not to far from the other person in the hall and crossed her arms under her breasts, the bag on her hip settled comfortably, and Veirsoa leaning heavily against her legs.

Moiraine didn't need the announcement from her bonded Vyr Wolf to know another had paused outside the door. Well this bunch was certainly shy. The candidate master rose and started toward the door, streching as she walked. Altaire watched through a half opened eye, she was much less intimidating as a giant floor rug. Moiraine laughed to herself at the creature and opened the door to find herself face to face with the two. "Hello, you must be new candidates standing out here, well come in so that I can get your names and room assignments." she said studying each of the newcomers.

Aeirie smiled at the other girl, raising an eyebrow at the binding over her eyes. The new canidate made an educated guess, though she wasn't sure, that the girl was blind. Why else would someone bind their eyes. If you were already blind, then the cloth didn't change anything, but with sight, blinding yourself put you off balance and probably got you badly hurt.

Aeirie entered hesitantly at the riders statement, but entered, her eyes flicking over the entire room. "I'm Aeirie, and I guess you're the Canidatemaster?" She asked, calm she didn't feel in the words.

Raevn’s lips curved with a small smile as she heard the introduced Candidate Master and stood straight from the wall. She adjusted her bag and moved forward then turned into the room until Veirsoa pawed at her leg to stop her from running into the other candidate. With the feline not yet being above the woman’s knee, Raevn bent her knees slightly to stroke the feline’s ears lightly; producing a loud purr that echoed in the room.
“I’m Raevn, Candidate Master.” The woman said as her own introduction after the other candidate. Her nostrils flared as Veirsoa hissed softly and the smell of a canine intruded on her senses. It wasn’t that she didn’t like canines, but they were too loud and obnoxious for her tastes. The creature was much larger than other breeds, according to the sound of its breathing, and that made Raevn wonder briefly about what breed it actually was.
