K'zo-mine! I am Taazrith and I am wondering why you are chasing children all over the sands. Please mine will you feed me and bring that one along so he does not cause more trouble.
The male was, indeed, shocked, unsure if to actually believe what he heard or if it had just been his imagination. Probably the heat of the sands had gotten way over into his head. As the other boy was chosen by the pale Bronze Keizo quickly grasped Hinuk, giving the boy a rather hard shake in his arm to scold him -- before something butted his leg in an insistent manner.
K'zo-Mine!! Taazrith is hungry! Quit shaking that child and feed me, now!
The Bronze was clearly irked at being ignored on his first try, looking up at the drudge as he snorted, though his eyes whirled with the rainbows of impression. Hinuk smiled with glee, instantly going closer to the dragonet and inspecting him. Taazrith allowed it for a moment, though as the boy became a bit annoying for the Bronze he simply snorted, using his tail to push the child a few paces away from himself. Taazrith had nothing against children, though he liked his personal space.
K'zo blinked, red eyes looking at the Bronze before him that huffed, before starting to stalk himself in the general direction where the scent of food came. Hinuk followed eagerly, before the drudge composed himself and trotted behind the Bronze, placing a hand over on his head gently. This was definitely something he had not expected... And what would the Headwoman say if she returned to find him feeding a dragont. And a Bronze at that.
---
The BlackRed had begun inspecting the girls, skipping the one eho had elbowed her way to the front and her -- before choosing a blond girl. Nayza smiled, nodding softly in congratulations, before watching as the Copper moved closer to the stands and impressed a girl over there. Good, neither had /betweened/ and a quick scan showed that both Bronzes had impressed as well -- and the child was safe. Thank Faranth...
Just then the largest egg left by the deceased Gold begun to rattle and shake, spilling out into the sands a rather small Queen. Soon the reason was shown, for her hide swirled back and forth between golds and reds, giving the dragonet a rather fiery appearance. And if her temper proved to be like that of other Golds, and similar to her hide... That little one would prove to be a challenge and a handful. Not that was to be seen as a problem, in her mind at least. After all, what was life without a challenge?
Vaeryth's largest egg was next to hatch, spilling out a dark and golden hide -- and for a moment Nayza expected it to be another BlackGold, much like the current Queen of Ardien Ciele. But she was soon proven wrong as the larger Queen moved closer to the Candidates, and upon inspecting her hide from a distance she noticed her true coloring. An Onyx/Gold -- a very interesting mixture indeed. She seemed eager to go ahead and find Hers, while the RedGold remained back for the time being.
The second Queen had a more masculine appearance when compared to the first, though that was to be expected. She did had the colors of a King in her. Surely when she gre she would be a very strong flier, and would give the Kings a run for their money. Both were equally unique and just as appealing. Nayza continually shifted her glance from one Queen to the other, for she couldn't just concentrate on one and forget the other. That would have been rude, and both Queens commanded just as much attention at the other. Besides, she didn't wanted to miss a thing. A stinging sensation begun on hher ankle again,, right where the scratch from a previous dragonet had mrked her, the wound slightly covered with sand when the last two dragonets shifted about. Reaching down to it she rubbed the area with her robe to clean it slightly, ignoring the pain that ensued along with the small bleeding. Ah well, her Candidate robe was already stained in red, so a few more blood marks wouldn't make much more difference -- right?

Well, it seemed that the Onyx/Gold queen had been angered at Kaedryn's dare. But instead of attacking her again, the queen had whirled to the other queen and the girl she had just released from her grip. Snarling, the larger queen was faced down by the smaller, which resulted in a small tussle between the two, which ended in what seemed to be an inevitable conclusion with the larger of the two simply using her bulk to pin the Red/Gold Queen.
Getting up rather slowly, the onyx/gold moved on to hers still dripping blood from the slashes on her chest while the red/queen rolled up. Eyes locked with Kaedryn's dual eyes, an instant connection made. Kaedryn Mine! I am your Fenrith. Please feed and oil my hide. We will show that queen how we fly at training. /Of course Fenrith! You are certainly more beautiful than that darkling child. Your beauty and strength is brighter than any others!/ Kaedryn replied to her little queen. gently patting Fenrith's neck while checking to make sure there weren't injuries to her throat.
Fenrith threw back her red swirled gold head, hissing to the air as she began her parade off the sands, leaving her onyx/gold sister behind on the sands, where she should have been left in the first place.

The OnyxGold was the first to move, her gaze fixing from one candidate to the other as she seemed to compare them -- trying to decided who was truly Hers. Her pose was that of a feline, hiddin gin the underrowth as it stalked the prey, waiting for the right time to slash out and see the outcome. And that's exactly what she did. With surprising speed hergolden claws digged deep into the girl's hip, raking down all the way and deep. And just like that she had moved away, considering the reaction that would come.
But before she could watch Kaedryn Nayza turned upon hearing the nearing footsteps of another, the smaller RedGold queen. She seemed angry about something, she noticed, before her jaws met with her ankle and her previous wound. Seemed her flesh had a nack to draw in red hued dragonets... The female winced, allowing herself to fall onto the hot sands, if only to avoid any more serious injuries when the queen started to pull. She didn't pull back, that would only help getting her teeth in deeper into her ankle -- and may even rip it off. A cringe found its way to her face, though other than that the female remained quiet, holding any whimper of pain to herself. She would not give them the pleasure of watching her squirm.
The OnyGold had seemed displeased about something, and soon a hiss was directed to the smaller queen, who promptly released Nayza's ankle. The female blinked, slightly confused, before watching as the flame queen lashed to the darker one, placing a series of cuts around the darker queen's chest. This only seemed to enrage the OnyxGold further, finding her way nto the other's neck and inning the flamed queen down with her bulk. And just like that the issue was settled, clearly proving that Vaeryth's hatchling was the dominant of the two.
Nayza-mine, your Ihryvaeth has won the fight. Will mine feed and heal me? That stupid wherry brained red scratched me, but I showed her. {Of course, my love. Let's go get you some food and a Healer for those scratches. And you sure showed her, my beloved, that red will never compare to you.}
Scratching the eyeridges of her Queen the girl led the darker Queen into the Feeding Tables, her head held high as the OnyxGold moved with dignity, and in a feline-like manner. Unlike the showing hiss of her sister the darkling remained quiet, demanding respect simply with a gaze. As she passed Fenrith she glared at the smaller one, giving a low hiss in warning to her before moving on. Ihryvaeth would certaintly not hessitate to remind the smaller hatchling just who, exactly, was in charge around her. A healer was beconed by Nayza, the young woman moving closer before looking for permission from the girl. She nodded, her Queen agreeing, before the female started to work on disinfecting the scratches on her chest. One that was done Nayza grabbed a bowl of meat, beginning to feed her darling as she shooed the Healer away. She'd only allowed the woman to tie a bandage around her wounded ankle to stop the bleeding. For now her Ihryvaeth needd to be fed -- afterwards she could waste all the time she wanted dealing with the injury on her ankle.
---
While Keizo fed his new charge, Hinuk was becoming rather bored. He failed to see the smallest egg quivering, blend into the sands as Vaeryth huddled around it. Deciding he prefered to be with the Queen for now, since K'zo was busy, the child ran off through the sands and toards her. After all, the hatchlings were long gone -- so surely it wasn't dangerous to be there anymore.
"Vaeryth, did you see?! Keizo impressed that Bronze! And the queens! They were so pretty colored!"
In his excitement the boy had managed to trip over his own two feet, landing face first into the sands before shifting to a sitting position. He winced, cleaning of the sand from his eyes, before turning to look at Vaeryth, and spotting the egg besides her. Curious he tilted his head, watching the small shakes before looking at the Queen.
"Hey, what's wrong with this one? Can't it hatch? Vaeryth, we have to get it out!"
Scratching sounds came from the inside, and the eight turn old moved closer before tapping the shell with his small hands, hearing the sound echoing inside. Something was indeed in there, and it seemed to be alive-
"Hinuk! What are you doing?! I told you to stay out of troubl-" "Keizo, Keizo! It can't get out! Come on, we got to help it get out!"
The boy yanked at the older lad's arm, pulling him closer to the egg as the Bronze behind him blinked, watching the child before turning his gaze onto the egg. He could hear scratching, but the Bronze just wanted to finish his food. Instead this small kid was pulling his around to random eggs and keeping him away from him. Maybe if he broke the eg shell the child would be satisfied, and leave His alone long enough for K'zo to finish feeding him. With one look he asked permission from Vaeryth, before sauntering over to the much smaller egg. Claws quickly met it, his jaws gnawing at the top to weaken it. He continued this for a few moments, before finally whirling and using his tail to deliver a blow to the side. Perhaps that would break it?

Azer blinked having just caught the end of the queen's impressions she was quite tired. Shedding the druge robes she appeared the weyrwoman once again. The queen dragon bugled to get the attention of everyone and the crowd became silent as Azer walked to the center of the sands and spoke loudly.
"As it is nearing midnight, the official hatching feast will be held tomorrow evening. Everyone is invited to attend and congratulate the newest riders. That's all I have." Short sweet and to the point, at this time of night everyone was probably ready for bed.
"New Weyrlings, when you are done feeding you dragon you may head over to the Weyrling Barracks. Saral rider of Ragnaroth will be in charge of you." the familiar voice of the candidate mistress called over near the feeding tables to help prevent mass confusion.
Azer sighed as the lights dimmed on the golden sands and the crowd trickled out, the roaring conversations dimmed and finally vanished. It had truly been a nightmare with the half frozen clutch and the half formed clutch it had left 15 eggs upon the sands. "What a hatching, I've never seen so many two-tones in all my life, they're supposed to be quite rare. Anyways I wanted to say my congrats to both you and the clutchmother on a wonderful clutch. Here is the roster of the weyrlings and I'm calling it a night. Moiraine smiled brightly and added, "This also came for you a little while ago, Antares follows ordered very well. But maybe it's time you just impress a flitter they are quite useful and if their bonded to you, your message are much more secure," her face became serious as she added the next part. "The message wasn't addressed so I read it by accident. She chose the red, I also took the initiative to move her up to the barracks, I believe her peers will comfort her." The weyrwoman nodded at the candidate mistress, "Very well then. Vaeryth thanks you for the compliments and I thank you for all your hard work. You are truly gifted, take a break go to one of the islands and enjoy yourself for a week or so - we shouldn't be getting anymore candidates in right now anyways." the candidate mistress nodded, "I believe I will. Thank you Azer, if it's alright I'll leave Altaire with you the hot weather would probably kill her. And I'm sure you'll see your little friend around. Just send me a message if anything comes up. Azer laughed, Will do my friend will do. Altaire and Antares will be in good hands. with that the two women parted ways.
Azer slowly sat down on the empty bleachers to read over the roster. As she finished the parchment floated to the floor and her chin was resting on her hands - this hatching had been a disaster. Benden would have her head if they found out a drudge impressed a bronze and a 8 turn old drudge impressed a white, not to mention a double impression and whatever else went on. She did still need to open the remaining eggs for future medical records, what happens when clutches freeze or hatch under developed cases that may become more common as the war intensefied. But that could wait, she could already feel the chill of the cold outdoors as soon as the lights were dimmed - they would last a few more hours. She grabbed the paper, folded it and put it in her pocket. She stood and with Vaeryth was the last to leave the sands.

((AAAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! See what happens when I get grounded for an indeterminate amount of time? My posting gets screwed up, new people jump in, old people return and I die a horrible unable-to-post-satisfactiorially death!))
Meake saw a nearly mettallic blue hatch. The dragonet seemed calm, but under the surface Meke was sure he could sense an impish good humor. The blue wandered, relaxed, toward a drudge. Was that who this blue had chosen? Meake felt obscurely cheated by that thought, as if the drudge would have stolen something precious from him.
But then the blue seemed to think better of whatever he was going to do, and wandered over to the tall boys feet. M'ke-mine, I was planning to trip the drudge but my stomach growled because your Ystwyth is sooo hungry. Will mine feed me?
"Of course Ystwyth. Lets get you fed."
And a thought that slipped from the boys mind to the blues with the ease of water pouring from an upturned glass.
And if anyone comes along you feel like tripping, go ahead.
These two would be trouble for the weyrling mistress, thats for sure.
((I'll keep Kamiana for another time. Posting with her all angsty in the candie barracks will be fun though...))

((Sorry it took me so long =P))
The candidate that no one notices. Well, at least the other candidates and the dragonets didn’t at all hardly. He had arrived a tad bit late, so the others had been riveted by the dragonets enough not to notice him. He was most definitely noticed by the crowd though. Yes, most definitely.
Probably because he had dyed his candidate robes black.
He hated white. It was a… to plain a color. He hated with all his might. Well, he didn’t hate his skin color. Just white in clothing. He avoided it at all costs in clothing. He wasn’t positive if he was allowed, but, it’s not like they would drag him off the hatching sands now, would they? He was pretty sure they wouldn’t. They’d scold him later probably, but he was good at tuning that sort of thing out. Now, he just wanted to impress.
The dragonets where hatching out now, and tried to watch the others get their dragonets without envy. There were plenty of dragonets here. Surely he would get picked by one, right? If he didn’t impress, and got caught in these robes, what if they wouldn’t let him attend the next hatching. He tried as hard as he could to cast that from his mind, and concentrate on the eggs. And the dragonets. Surely one of the would pick him, right?
((Kaisar knew I was doing black robes and thought it would be nice to stir things up… ))
