The cold of between preceded dark pair, both unsure as to why this place was chosen. Hopefully, nothing unfortunate would happen on this scouting trip. All they wanted was a little peace and quiet, some time set aside for themselves. So rare these days, what with two clutches on the sands. Large ones, at that. Something akin to thunder grasped both the dragon's and the rider's attention, pulling it towards the ground who's gravity they both defied. The herd was magnificent, even from these heights. Rhkalmir Hold, then. A low whistle of appreciation crept past the rider's lips as the beasts thundered along below him. He was no foreigner to horse flesh (who was?), but the beasts had always held a special interest to him. Shame that he had never purchased one. Maybe today would be the day. Only one way to know for sure. Wonder what they're like up close. D- Without further questioning, the Brown on which the man was riding completely nose-dived, a rare rumble of draconic laughter vibrating his entire frame. Adrenaline shot through the young man as the dragon waited to pull up before he could swoop up and over the now frightened beasts. There.. The dragon swerved abruptly towards the fence, the rider nearly losing his seat. [i]A little warning next time? The beast's answer was a jarring landing and a neck craned towards Faranth knows what. Several straps were nearly broken in an attempt to confront his bonded face to face, but the male was struck dumb at the female that the Brown was a hair's breadth from, eyes shifted to a content and accomplished blue. "Vindith, what the shards are you doing?" The rider was a surprisingly attractive young man, (but who on Pern these days wasn't?), with a very roguish appearence about him. The ice blue eyes were partially shielded by the ever ragged rider's crop, and the physique was strong beneath the wherhide, albeit his posture defiant and stubborn. A suspicious air clung to him as he took in the girl before him- what did his dragon want with her? "Who are you?"

“Search?” The one word was just barely an audible whisper, and it shook Zeyruan’s body almost visibly. Her bright green eyes scanned the face of the rider, and the whirling eyes of the brown dragon as what the rider said clicked in her mind. She had never thought that a dragon would mark her out for search, though she’d always wished it. With the presentation of it though, the woman was nervous and shy at the idea. The rider’s mood wasn’t missed on Zeyruan’s part though, quickly she eyed the male rider more intently, he was handsome, she had to give him that. But his immediate impression didn’t much appeal to her; what did that matter though? “I will be able to get my stuff, right?” The woman asked, brushing some more dust from her front and looked at the dragon first, and then the rider; the answer was obvious, but it still didn’t seem as if the search was real.

A brow was raised at her praise, the smile still evident on his features. Thank Faranth- there was still some sanity in the day. Props to the girl for not blubbering away like a moron- 'Oh, my betrothed! My dresses! Wah, wah, wah.' Life was tough and the girl realized it. That and she obviously seemed geniunely excited to go. Vindith had settled by now, and he proffered his foreleg without further questioning. There was slight discoloration to the normal blue, and it caused H'dare to move over to the Brown in worry. Mine, we must go. Now. Abruptness was key, and he turned back to the female. "Is it imperative that you get your things now, Zeyruan, or can I come back for them later?" Please, say no. Tension crinkled along his arms and spine as a projected image from the Weyr came in- the Hatching. Shards! But the second wasn't even near ready yet! What would this mean for the Weyr?
ooc| Do you want to just skip ahead to the Hatching, or continue?

((Even though I often find the searches enjoyable, we can go ahead and just get to the hatching, drop her off how you wish. )) The woman watched the rider and his dragon with her shining emerald eyes. She noticed now H’dare seemed slightly worried, and she saw how the brown was no longer flaunting himself about. She glanced briefly back at the runner beasts now calmed a little, then pushed her bangs out of her eyes again. “Items can be replaced; obviously both of you want to get back to the weyr.” Zeyruan said, her voice and features still oddly cheerful and teasing. The woman moved past the rider, remembering how the candidates of searches in her past had gotten up on the dragons; as well as the few times she had seen her brother after he impressed. She was climbing up onto the browns’ back and strapping herself in only moments after she finished speaking, then looked at the rider expectantly and patiently. Either she’d come back later, or she’d buy or make new possessions, there wasn’t really anything all that important at her house; all she really needed was with her anyway.

A relieved smile broke across the worry, and he vaulted up in front of her. "Good then, because you're about to be dropped off in the midst of chaos." He left the straps for his waist undone, only bother with the ones for his legs. "The Hatching has begun, and apparently both clutches are presenting dragonets. I'll have someone ready with a robe for you by the time we get there." Shards, he'd have to give her a run down between here and the Weyr. Mind asking Ragnaroth to have Saral fetch a drudge for us? The Brown was silent for a moment as he confered with his friend back at the Weyr. Done, Mine. "Thank you, love. Now-" he talked over his shoulder without looking back at Zeyruan- if she wanted to go, she'd pay attention. "-I take it you've never been to a Hatching, otherwise you'd most likely still be at at a Weyr. So this is how it goes- you will be presented with a white robe and you will put it on over your clothes because there'll be no time to change." Vindith, during all these instructions, had spread his wings and took a might leap, pushing off into the sky. The drive upward was lazy, giving H'dare enough time to explain as much as possible. "Once on the Sands, remain calm, reassuring, and open. If you get mauled, don't fight back, it just makes them even more sharding angry, got it? You may have several come up and reject you, or you may Impress right away. Don't ever try to reach for another dragonet unless it specifically calls for you." This time, H'dare actually turned and smiled, a roguish glint in his eye. "And whatever you do, don't piss off the clutchmother. She may look like she's just watching, but she'll do anything to prevent a dragonet from going between or getting hurt, and I mean anything. So take care to always have an eye on her, because if she sees something she doesn't like, she'll let you know, and it might be a physical warning instead of mental. Also-" the rider turned back around, flexing his hands as he put his gloves on. "-it takes the time of a thrice cough to go between, remember always that I am before you and Vindith is beneath you. We've done this too many times to get lost or have a disaster. Remain relaxed, and it'll just be a slightly wierd sensation. Ready? Go!" With that, the Brown disappeared between, leaving behind a now grazing herd and empty skies.
