Any of you working on any special projects?

Currently I am working on a pen and paper RPG game, called StarBreeze that is a mix of Sci-Fi and magic, in a world filled with lost tech.
Currently it is early days, but I plan to publish it one day, with illustrations and everything, and have it as something on my CV when try to get a job in the games industry.

Any one working on any special projects aswell?

From what I've heard about it, I think it's special too.

As for me, I do this comic called "Alone in a Crowd."

...oh, I guess you knew that though wink.gif

Honestly, I don't have any other projects I'm actually working on right now, because AIAC and everything that currently needs to be done for it keeps me pretty busy. But I DO have things in the back of my mind I'm planning.

Well, I have this comic-to-be, though unfortunately it's in a state of Development Hell (do not click the link if you value your time). Working title: "The Autobiography of Mrs. Lloyd". I've been "working" on it for years now.

Oh well, if nothing else, it's good drawing practice.

While I do have a number of model airplanes in various stages of lack-of-progress, I'm currently on a bit of an Armored Vehicle jag. I'm currently turning one of these:

into a fictional C3* vehicle. (Basically by removing the missile and the associated launching gear and replacing it with a scratch-built command compartment.)

Reynard, that C3 idea sounds cool... Will you post some pics when you're done?

Me? Working on, above all, mid-term papers! One in experimental phonetics (just planning / carrying out a phonetic experiment) and one on the Japanese writing system. Trying to understand and explain the history behind it and why they ended up combining scripts the way they did.

On the artsy side though, I've got a stack of fan art sketches to ink, and some requests to make/finish for some folks... Writing snippets of a fan comic /fiction or two as well... And I'm always drawing Sonic-verse smoochface. laugh.gif

Also I'm brainstorming / planning a whole bunch of projects of my copyrighted own, but the more active ones include the story for the character I named this account for. In short, it's about a jackdaw/wolfdog hybrid who says she's a cat, her sometimes quirky way of looking at the world and the questions she asks about it, herself and people in general. =P Also trying to find a consistent way of drawing that character, and some others I intend to use for comics and need to be able to re-draw so you recognize them XD

And there's this webcomic named Made In The Eighties I've vowed to kick off before the year ends. (for better or worse, I darn well will, too) I'm working on a sketch buffer and some kind of order for some strips to appear, but most of it will likely be "as we go along" since it's a borderline blog setup. With "funny animal" characters based on me, my friends and online "penpals", and random people who say something I find funny. tongue.gif It'll likely have a lot of videogame and movie references. Actually the first full page will be one big movie reference... ^^;

And I've pretty much signed up to write dialogue/story and design characters for a friend's RPG... So I'll learn to make pixel art, I guess! It'll be kind of a far-post-apocalypse setting, hopefully kind of steampunk-with-magic, because I like that smile.gif

On the whole, I am practicing technical things, which I am not all that good at, like angles, backgrounds, poses, shading and stuff, and taking aim on a few new things to try out. Not all at once, but when I can. wink.gif I've only recently caught on to how nice it can be to just sit down and play around with inking, so I'm practicing that too. So on the whole, I'm most of all getting more routine and structure to my art and piling up ideas that I can put together when I have more time.

Its called 'A rented Christmas', it was originally supposed to be a non-contriversial mild-bland play, but it was super lame so my Drama director upgraded it, and now its awesome. there will probably be video later.

Hey, I say all of you should post your art. I think we'd all like to see it. That's what the fanart section is for smile.gif Doesn't just have to be art of my characters.

Loopy, I must ask, what's the premise of Made in the Eighties?

Reynard: oh, don't worry about that, I'll check back now 'n' then :3 (TOM, can such things as model mods / doll face painting etc be posted in the art section as well?)

Starlogic, the play sounds like fun, would be nice to see the video if there is one, later smile.gif

TOM: ...Arghflerb it, making me decide what my idea is all about!
Ten edits later, this is what you get:
The premise for MITE is avatars of me and my friends going on about stuff that upsets / puzzles us, trying to make sense of the world, or geeking out about our spheres of interest (ranging from hockey to tanning to learning Klingon), whichever comes first. And jokes spawned from our imagination and fandoms. (It'll be half and half things people actually did say, and those things you knew better than to say.)
So the title refers to us people that were "made in the eighties", and what it might have done to us wink.gif Phrase suitably jacked from a button from a gaming con.

It's got little to no fourth wall, no strict storyline, will be based on real life and people but with no aim to be (auto)biographical per se. Call it a view to life from my window rather than a view to my life. tongue.gif
And I've got this idea of reader participation; that anyone who makes a particularly interesting / funny comment gets pulled in for a walk-on. So hopefully it'll be a rather flexible comic with some moderately steady core concept of how my generation tackles life.

Ohhhh, I get it. I was expecting a comic strip about 80's pop culture or something. But I like how you titled it for that reason, that's very cool! Sounds like you could have a lot of fun with a strip like that.

A lot of people warn against breaking the fourth wall too much in comics. I agree somewhat, because I think if you rely on it it can take away from the overall feeling of what your comic's all about. Like Kris Straub of "Starslip" said on a "Webcomics Weekly" podcast, people who see a comic that starts off with:

"hey guys, I'm bored, what should we do?"
"I know, lets make a webcomic!"
"This IS a webcomic!"
*ba-dump-tish*

will just immediately leave and never come back because that whole device has been done so many times now and people are just sick of it.

What I like is when someone takes something that's overdone, but then adds a new spin on it to make it fresh again. I think including audience participation could give your proposed comic a pretty unique feel to it.

Anyway, best of luck with it! smile.gif

I wish I could do a Webcomic, but I can't draw for shit & I it takes me ages to think up story & character ideas...

I have a few things I've been working on, put practically all of them have stopped due to certain things:

My Wrestling History Book
My Book/Film Script Idea which I'm not sure what to do with
The 25 Favourite Albums list which I've never started

There are other things but those 3 are the main ones
