Title: Organazation

Ok, how do the orks organize them selfs? Do the follow Imperial or just have a collection of fightas, fighta bommas, bommas. and 'eavy bommas?

Whatever the warboss tells them to do... not that they listen that much. Ork wings are generally a motley assortment of planes, with the biggest and strongest orks taking the biggest and fastest fightas for themselves. In my wing the Boss is in one of the Fightas, but the Mek just couldn't resist going up into the skies and so he's flying second lead in a Fighta-Bommer. Of course, I play blood axes, so that's as organised as it gets.

I am confused - 1) isnt Organization to big a word for an Ork to say, 2) wouldn't it just be called "mob up" or something similar, and 3) huh? You are joking right?

I suppose that some Orks - particularly Blood Axe - Speed Freaks might actually try to emulate an Imperial Navy Squadron on some level, having their own Blood Axe Skwadron or the like.

well you never know what those fly boyz are thinking. I was just making shure I was not smoking the wrong type of squig.

Though what would be the best mix of fightas and fighta-bommas?

I take two Fightaz per Fighta-Bommer. But that's mostly because that's how I bought them, and now I have 8 Fightaz and 4 FBs. It seems to work for me, I haven't lost yet (although that's admittedly out of only 3 games so far).

If there is something like organisation with Orks, it is clearly selforganisation. You know, that's the mechanism which lets big amounts of animals, e.g. fish, act an a meaningful way.

For the Orks I would think that "they are many" plus their genetic "knowledge" of war means, that they take whatever they have (or whatever the Big Mek comes up with, what is usually the same), and make the best of it - which means kicking the ass of everybody else, airborne.

Will Hayes mentioned a future AI expansion featuring Orks, they might come up with some "hard" background at that point.

Ork Organisation... (Ork-in-eye-zay-chun : The secret book of ork war lore ? :P)

I'd tend to go along the lines of something similar to the previously mentioned thoughts : the Mekboyz churn out a heap of aircraft, the AirBoss yells 'GO KILLEM, BOYZ' and the Air Nobs kick the crap out of any other ork who heads for their favourite fighta / fightabomma.

At least it's a good mental image =-)
