I was recently reading a wikipedia article about kimonos. It said that the patterning on the kimono could be described as inversely proporational to the woman's age. Young unmarried women wear kimonos with wild patterns. Young married women wear bright kimonos with floral prints, and more mature women wear dark blue kimonos with geometric patterns.
Aoi Sakuraba almost always wears a dark blue kimono with no pattern at all. Does that help indicate just how extremely traditional and conservative her upbringing has been? |
