Official launch of the Adam Scott Foundation at the Mastercard Masters
During the recent MasterCard Masters tournament in Melbourne Australia, Adam announced the official launch of the Adam Scott Foundation, a registered charity in Australia. The Adam Scott Foundation has been established with a mantra of helping youth, in a myriad of ways. The Foundation will raise funds for distribution to assist underprivileged youth, needy children, via scholarship grants and in establishing specific projects.
"I have wanted to establish a means where we can assist youth to further their dreams, in whatever way that may be" Scott said. "I have been fortunate in my life to have the opportunity to follow my chosen path, and if we can assist others that may not otherwise have that chance then we will have succeeded".
The initial activity to mark the launch of the foundation was a "birdie promotion" held during the MasterCard Masters event. A jointly sponsored exercise between Mastercard and Adam Scott, each party gave $25 for every birdie made, $50 for each eagle, and $100 for a hole in one. By tournament end the promotion had raised $78225.00.
The beneficiary from this activity was the Reach Foundation, a well established Melbourne based charity that assists underprivileged youth. The funds will be used to complete a workshop at the Reach Foundation inner city headquarters. "We hope to continue this concept at all the Australian Tour events in 2006" Scott announced "and we shall be looking to expand the concept to include general public sponsorship, so we can collectively raise more funds".
"As I have played the USPGA Tour I have been overwhelmed to see the amount of money raised for charity, and I want to do what I can to see the same process happen in Australia".
The Adam Scott Foundation will soon be releasing some of its planned activities for 2006, as well as details of its scholarship grants and other programs. It is now actively seeking support from the corporate community to assist in its fundraising activities.
100% of funds raised by the Foundation are distributed to the chosen recipients - all administration and running costs associated with the Foundation are personally met by Adam Scott.

You know, I don't know what Australians call thier leader, but Adam surely has my vote if he ran for President in the U.S. No joking for someone so young(n' handsome ) n' actually doing it, launching the foundation. He is a leader who thinks it, talks it and does it I wonder what classes he took in Las Vegas?

THE Adam Scott Foundation Scholarship, which was launched in December in partnership with Queensland’s Griffith University and the PGA of Australia’s International Golf Institute has cleared the first tee and is well down the promotional fairway. The Foundation, established by Australia’s top-ranked golfer Adam Scott to assist Australian youth, has already circulated a letter of introduction and a flyer promoting the scholarship to golf and sport clubs, education centres and youth groups. General Manager of the Adam Scott Foundation Geoff Hall says that the scholarship is not just for great players but more applicable to a person that shows keen interest in the game.
