If you believe a reaction will take place, draw the structural formula for the chief organic product:

trans-2-methyl-1-bromocyclohexane + NaI (excess) in THF, heat (25C) -->

1-bromo-3,5-dimethylbenzene + H20 + Acetonitrile + heat -->

CH3CH2C(CH3)2-Cl* + Li (in pentane) -->
*2-chloro-2-meythlbutane

bromocyclopentane + C5H10N-H (2 equiv. in acetone) -->

(CH3CH2)3CCH2-Cl + Mg (in ether) -->

1-chloro-2,2-diethylbutane + KOCH3 in CH3OH -->
(obviously the halides in this and the previous are the same!)

CH3CH2CH2-Br + KOCH3 in CH3OH -->

1-bromopropane + C6H5SNa (in acetone) -->
(ditto for these two problems as well)

4-methylbenzyl chloride + NaI (in acetone) -->
(This one is easy. Check your labs from two weeks ago, it should be in the TA notes.)

3-ethyl-3-chloropentane + MG (in ether), heat -->

3-ethyl-3-cholorpentane + CO2 then aqueous acid -->

bromocyclopentane + sodium thiphenylate -->
(Quick and stupid question: what's the structue for NaSC6H5? I can't seem to find it and am having a brain lapse)

meta-chlorotoluene + sodium acetylide in ether -->

Oh, wow. :wacko1: That is so sad ... O-Chem homework I had to e-mail to my lab partner. Don't you wish you were in my shoes?! ><

QUOTE
Notes: Scott looking for fourth straight top-5
June 8, 2006
By Joel Schuchmann
PGA TOUR staff

Australian Adam Scott has posted three consecutive top-5s on the PGA TOUR -- a solo third at the Wachovia Championship, a tie for third at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, and a tie for fourth at the Memorial Tournament.

• In earning $1,025,667 in his last three starts, Scott has jumped to No. 19 on the PGA TOUR Official Money List with $1,794,040.

• Scott is making his third start at the Barclays Classic -- he finished tied for 79th in 2002 and tied for 32nd in 2004…

• More on Scott: Next week, Scott will make his 21st start at a major championship and his fifth start at the U.S. Open. His best major finish was a tie for ninth at both the 2002 Masters Tournament and the 2004 PGA Championship. His best U.S. Open finish was a tie for 28th last year -- his first made cut in four starts at the U.S. Open. Scott has played in every major championship since the British Open in 2001, a streak of 19 consecutive major starts.

Adam Scott 18-hole statistics:

Checking out the latest earthquakes in California, those things are scary :cry: born and raised in N. Calif, I can never get used to them, I can always feel them, the one in 1989 was a whopper, I guess having been born on a fault line I am sensitive to them <.<

Umm, something my brother sent me from his myspace ... a bunch of drunken Germany fans (himself included -- in the sunglasses, which I think he stole from me last year but that is beside the point -- and two of those guys are cousins) celebrating after a World Cup match. I love that he has to read something written on his arm at the end. *Sigh* I feel so proud right now <.< ><

(a song title)

Ellie - January 22, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
Haha, I meant to only copy the link my friend sent me in an IM, and I've apparently copied half the conversation - which happened during the last bit of the AFC championship game on Sunday. (I took the screen names out to protect my friend's privacy) I wouldn't read it if you're a New England fan:

The link is: http://www.vrtnieuws.net/nieuwsnet_master/...art/index.shtml So I'm not sure if it's been mentioned it before, but Reche Caldwell has some crazy "deer-in-headlight" eyes.

This is a statement that I never thought I'd make, and 'tis proof that hell has indeed frozen over: Go Peyton, go!

What an AWESOME psyche-out by the Colts on Caldwell! I love how the announcers are yelling at him right now. Pats could do with some laser rocket hands. Or whatever it is that catches rockets.

The power of Adam Vinatieri knows no bounds! Guy is clutch. They're playing 'Final Countdown' in the background. I fully support playing that song whenever possilbe... I love Europe. In all seriousness, I love that CBS hasn't gone to commercial in like five whole minutes.

Wow...that was wacky. He coughs it up, and gets it back himself in mid-air. AND the Roughing the Passer, AND it's right at the two minute warning for a free time out. This is intense. I love playoffs in sports.

Why am I having a Rudy flashback, where he asks the Notre Dame priest if he's done all he could?

Manning can't even watch. Is he praying or trying to stop himself from becoming physically ill? Pray Peyton, pray. Pray quarterback, pray! I'd totally pass to Reche Caldwell right now. He's money.

Can I just say that Tom Brady threw as clutch a game-ending INT as anyone ever?

Bellicheck looks like he's going to tear the neck out of his bathrobe there after that pick by Jackson. And maybe NOW, Payton Manning can start getting the sweet endorsement deals he so richly deserves.

I love how Belichick just strolled right by Manning with a look of disgust in his eyes. That guy is such a classic creep. He makes Lloyd Carr seem like Mr. Rogers.

How fast did Tom Brady get out of there? I'm pretty sure he teleported back to New England after he threw that pick. Lloyd Carr?

Now, if Esiason can say something to Marino that turns it in to a knife fight, my night would be complete.

Great post game interview by Belichick. Dude is a total genius.

Wow Marino literally just said "What is that?" to Belichick's postgame for CBS. Where is that Tomlinson interview from last week about Baby Bill being sans class (and/or graciousness)? Did Dan not get the memo?

So, does Brady still get to do the Super Bowl coin toss?

Sweet God, Belichick now has to go coach the Chargers (and the three guys not from SD on the AFC Pro Bowl team) in a few weeks! I think I might have to watch it just to see how awkward it is going to be for him.

I could seriously sit here and listen to Berman come up with more words for "monkey" for the next hour...

Furthermore, a transport arrangement could be made
between Anza and I which would be highly convenient.
