Meh, not me. I've been around 'em for awhile, and I still don't like them. Did you see that fully functional Romanian AK47M for $309? That is a STEAL.

Yeah, reliable, cheap gun.
Requires cleaning 1/3 of the time the M16 does.
And it's simple to use compared to the M16.
But the M16 just looks way cooler.
The Ak-47 uses are largger round than the M16.

M16/M4 series uses a 5.56mm NATO, which translates to 5.56mm X 45mm. (.223 Remington)

Most of the AK rifles use a 7.62mm M43, which is 7.62mm X 39mm. Second most used is the 5.45mm X 39mm, see also 5.54mm M74...only the AK101 and AK108 are chambered for a 5.56mm NATO.

Also, M16/M4 series has a poorly thought out gas system. When the gasses come back around through the tube, they are spewed right back onto the bolt face along with all that gunk, resulting in quick fouling...I think I said this before too...redundant.

Yup, 'cause that's what their given.
j/k. They're nice guns. accurate and powerful from what I've read and what you've told me.
What is the price difference between .223 rounds an 7.62mm X 39mm?

Those are 2 different sizes...
A .223 is a 5.56mm X 45...which is cheaper than 7.62mm X 39. They both do their jobs well. The former has a smaller round, but has more powder packed behind it than the 7.62mm. And the prices exactly, I do not know. It can vary.

And SEALS are issued SiG 552s, SCAR-Ls, M4s, MP5s, M24s, etc. They actually can pick their weapon, as long as it meets mission specs...that is, of course, overridden by a CO.
