It is a dawn of a new time for pirates: they are a dying breed, slowly being hunted down by the Royal Navy and other pirate killers in order to free the waters of the Caribbean from them.

However, Jack Sparrow is not about to let that happen. He will not accept his imminent fate, and instead desires to stay true to his pirate heritage, and makes an all-out war with the British Royal Navy. This has gained him many enemies, including newly promoted Commodore James Norrington. Meanwhile, the president of the East India Trading Company, Cutler Beckett, is enjoying pompous success; but is now on a mission to retrieve a compass from Jack: the compass that doesn't point north.

And so, Jack is now traveling back to Tortuga in an attempt to let his crew flourish. But, as he tries to slip past Port Royale undetected, he gets into an unlucky situation stuck between two powers -- Norrington and Beckett! In a desperate attempt, he calls upon the help of Tia Dalma, a sorceress who takes up her living in the peaceful part of an island called Pelegosto, and island which also houses a cannibalistic indian tribe...
