appointment in crime alley takes place in an alternate universe, taking ideas from smallville, the superman films and the christopher nolan batman series, meaning that some of the ideas from the feature film and television series have been altered or changed into something new, yet just as exciting. the setting is three months after the smallville episode 'requiem'.

belle reve sanitarium is a mental institution and metahuman prison that is run by the united states government. it is known to hold psychotic metahumans and dangerous smallville residents. the meteor freak villains that clark fights are almost always held here to treat their insanity, similar to how many of batman's enemies end up in arkham asylum.

the talon.
in september of 1939, the talon opened as a 560 seat movie theater owned by smallville native william talon. unable to find a new tenant to revive the old movie house, potter sold the property to local businessman lex luthor who then turned it into a coffee shop. lana, martha and lois once worked here.

the spinning globe that rests on the top of the building is practically infamous, and while visiting metropolis, it is impossible to miss. this newspaper is regarded as one of the top publications of news, and is also the employer of clark kent, lois lane, and jimmy olsen. the place seems innocent enough, but it is run by luthorcorp. i would be on your guard.

they stand menacingly within the new troy district of metropolis, and was once the working place of both lionel and lex luthor. but despite lionel taking the long plunge to his death and lex vanishing, the place has been relatively the same, being run with an iron fist by tess mercer, protegee of the one and only lex. i suggest you don't loiter unless you have official business.

the largest and most well-known park in metropolis. it is often crowded with civilians walking with their loved ones, playing games, feeding the ducks, or just enjoying the fresh air. meet up with a long lost friend, or run from a foe, it can be just the place to find yourself, or lose it.

oh the life of a college student. this prestigious institution has both benefits of education and location. right in the heart of metropolis, students who attend grow up to succeed. take a night class, take an entire semester. their library has one of the largest archive collections in the country. interesting. i wonder what kind of secrets it holds.

sometimes known as the lower east side of metropolis, suicide slum is a dirty and poverty stricken area where some of the less friendly people tend to hang out. if you choose to spend time here, watch your back and always be on your guard. you never know who you will run into here.

gotham city is a major metropolitan city located not far from metropolis. it is home to billionaire bruce wayne and his family company of wayne enterprises. where metropolis has it's meteor freaks, gotham has it's psychopaths. and where metropolis has the red and blue blur, gotham has the bat.

the residence is typically depicted as a huge stately mansion on grounds outside gotham city, maintained by the wayne family's servant, alfred pennyworth. the manor has belonged to the wayne family for several generations. it grounds include an extensive subterranean cave system that bruce wayne discovered as a boy and later used as his base of operations, the batcave. the grounds also includes a large hill that was partially hollowed out for batman's aerial vehicles, and there is also an underground river system that is large enough to accommodate docking space for the batboat and has a large opening for the boat.

wayne enterprises is owned by billionaire bruce wayne and run by his business manager lucius fox. it was founded by merchant ancestors of the wayne family in the 17th century. it has produced specialized fabrics and materials, electromagnetic gyroscopic navigational satellite systems, antihemorrhagic agent, radiation stamping technology, and rotor blades made of metal composites that have low radar signature and special acoustic design.

a large three story italian style villa just outside gotham city. the grounds are vast and beautiful, though have gone unused for years and lay in slight disarray. the house is in need of repair, but that just adds a certain charm to it.
